That Reno NWS temperature is cold but I recall during a mild spell being in mammoth lakes around 8,000feet in elevation and overnight temperatures were in the teens so I don’t think it’s all that unusual?
I’m in this camp. 1959-60 was rolling just like this winter and then we hit March with a huge bomb and a very cold month. To me that brought the winter grade way up as a 7th grader having thrown in the towel before March. Ya never know....

I’m almost on the other side-retiring from my current job at the end of June. After the summer I’ll decide if I want to work or not but if I do it will be under 20 hours/week. 60 hours for decades gets old at age 73!

Montclair is nice! I grew up in NNJ-some great snows in the 50s and 60s!
I think now is when we’re making up-we’ve had some great winters. Maybe this will go out with a huge bang ala the sub of par winter of 1959-60 until we caught some magic.
