  1. I don’t thnk winter have warmed so much but it seems they have shortened.
  2. Big snow falling and accumulating frequently makes the winter for me. Minimal ice. Ice and age in the 70s or higher is a bad combination.
  3. Think of all the consensus big winter forecasts that fall flat. Maybe we 2010-11...expected to be a dud but was far from it!
  4. He’s kind of neutral. He accepts whatever comes. Retired colleague of mine.
  5. My friend Tony says big winter incoming....as good a guess as many....
  6. I said ratter but true...it’s way too early. I think I can take a reasonable wag around Labor Day. On the plus side...we’re due for decency in winter sort of. I’m still coming for you mreaves!
  7. Maybe it was the 70s in January that made it reasonable..., My snow was my lowest since I moved into this house but that’s only 5 years. You’re right thought..l.a major ratter but 2011-12 and 2001-02 felt worse. This WS more along the lines of 1994-95.
  8. I think you guys were maybe 25% sub normal?
  9. I don’t think it was as bad but on the next tier up. That said, there’s no ratter like a nina ratter.
  10. It’s early but my initial sense is big ratter. I plan to spend a lot of time in VT
  11. Good luck. It will have to be a pretty quiet rest of the month to be that low but it certainly can happen. Obviously I hope you’re wrong but I respect the methodology.
  12. Raindance, regarding the Boston correlation, seasonal total now 7.1 on 12/3.
  13. Make it 90 https://w2.weather.gov/climate/getclimate.php?wfo=pafc
  14. So I see BOX added the melted amount to KBOS. 1.15 for 14.8 snow at Logan.
  15. The setting of the snow is amazing. I had to go to Hopkinton and from my house through that area that was in the band longer than me I couldn’t tell a depth difference. OTOH it’s nice to have all roads to pavement quickly in the mid March sun.
  16. I imagine BOS will adjust the 0.37 qpf giving 14.8 snow. No one Boston had 40:1....lol. First half was under 10:1 probably.
  17. Hey I get what you’re saying but is it proper or not? Glad I take a ruler and average a few areas when I bother to measure. I’m not that obsessed with the mby total vs established climo record. Which is why I’m happier if Logan gets 25 and me 15 vs the other way around.
  18. Hi Don-thanks as usual for your wonderful insight. For the record, BOS added 0.3 after midnight so Logan is 0.1 away from 1906 and 0.5 from 1960...indeed 1.1 from 1967. Top 3 are big mountains to climb but I think we move into 4th place without much effort.
  19. Winter wonderland for the ides of March. Logan now with 55+ for the season and something looming possible for next week. Had we somehow gotten this NAO a month earlier we’d have partied like it was 2015.
