  1. Yeah for sure. It feels like 2 feet due to the relativity of it in the context of the past few winters.
  2. Good is pretty far from great in this case. BOS will probably finish subnormal for the month but not by much.
  3. Slept through whatever came down but based on my car a dusting. Pretty nonetheless.
  4. As modeled things look good. Can it go to crap-sure. We’ve seen the rug pull many times in recent years but is the euro family showing one of its known biases with the lower heights in the SW? Maybe yes or maybe no. A good Atlantic as you say somewhat neutralizes the risk but we’d all prefer a good pacific and hopefully we’ll get it.
  5. Well yeah-and no one was pimping any of those days as good nor are any of the maps covering this period
  6. I suggest “signs of January not being Tanuary in 2025”
  7. Ensemble’s really haven’t changed much as we get closer. Some people are losing their shit when op models show a rainy system on d15.
  8. If you look at the broad troughs in the picture you’ll count 3 of them on the NHEM view of gefs and eps. 4-5 wave patterns tend to occur more frequently I think.
  9. Looks like a 3 wave nhem pattern trying to set up in the long medium range. Those tend to be long lasting if it verifies.
  10. 2/4/23- coldest day in Boston since 1957 I think so yes. When I came in from a poorly thought out walk on slippery surfaces I commented to my wife that when we went out at midnight that night it was 20 degrees colder! But that was an ice cube dropped in tepid water and it was mild 36 hours later. This one is longer albeit not stronger.
  11. 18 at 1pm. I can’t remember the last time we saw that here. This is not the last 2 winters.
  12. That sucks! I think the Berkshires got >2 feet so it must have been pure latitude.
  13. 2016 never made it beyond a moderate event in Boston and none to the north.
  14. January 96 was the last storm (I think) that buried DC-PWM with 12+.
  15. How does Paris, the most amazing city I’ve ever visited not be on that list which is predicated on how long web users look at images (a ridiculous metric which probably would make a bloody scene #1)? With that said, snowy downtown Boston in the holiday season is pretty great as it is other times of the year.
  16. Ok which one of you is signed in as the pope?
  17. I see BOS now updated to 5.2. Probably about average to date.
  18. Isn’t that the time we got thrown out of the main room at JJ Foleys from catcalling Barry Burbank’s 1-3 call? (We got 8-they relegated us to a back room).
  19. 5.5 is my probable final but it is still snowing lightly
  20. Wait a minute-it picked back up and is ripping again. An actual snowstorm.
  21. I had 4.5 about 40 minutes ago and it was pounding still l. Appears to be tapering off now but I imagine I’ll end up 5-6 as a final. Unexpected and well loved!
  22. Yeah just enough longitude AND latitude to dodge it so far.
  23. Snowing nicely still. Eyeballing 3 inches. Plow has been through and I need to shovel that end of driveway stuff. Not quite enough for snowblower and I want to move it before it glaciates.
