Looks like a nice parting shot inbound from the west within a few minutes.

A lovely quiet snowy day. I plan for a long walk after my core exercises and shower. These days you have to savor snow-makes me feel like a southerner with this year’s frequency.

I drove past my local reservoir today and it looked like good skating ice with an open area in the middle likely from ducks needing that.

I don’t think they’re going ice skating on the Connecticut River….

Is the 3k rifling through uncle’s garbage finding a few nips that were unopened?

The implication that the pacific doesn’t matter is a big flag to me hence my inquiry.

Are there any peer reviewed journal articles supporting this premise?

Yeah in California it doesn’t matter-just because it was 70 and sunny in my yard didn’t deter me from driving a few hours to deeper snow than you’d ever see in the east. But for New England, lack of snow in one’s yard is a deterrent.

Flakes be falling

Indoor treadmill workout tonight. Took a break from the cold and wind. Actually it’s a better workout but you have to have a distraction-tv.

You have to include your neighbors. Can you imagine getting snow in your yard and every house around you is bare?

It’s probably -3 though. Normally cold as Don Kent used to say.

A city of 4 million? Boston city is about 700,000. May be 4m in the entire metro but even that is dwarfed by many.

BOS went from flirting with futility in mid January to settling the all time seasonal record by mid March.

Getting back to the euro vis a vis January 2015. I remember guidance kind of hinted at a DC storm about 5-6 days out and scooter through his famous tantrum. I was on a work trip in Pittsburgh and was enjoying the 1” they had on the ground thinking it was nice to see snow again. This was a Friday and I returned home that night with a progged slop storm coming Saturday. I wake up Saturday and checked the overnight euro and see the hook and a snow pummeling coming in 60 hours-with no other guidance on board. The slop system over performed and 2 days later we were off to the races. How long must we pay for that?

I actually went on a 3 hour walk today and despite the brutal conditions enjoyed it. The key is really good warm gloves. I also wear earmuffs under my ski hat to stay warmer. Can’t beat it so I try to relish it.

As long as it's shovelable at least it's ok with me. All day Saturday with snow and football.

All day intermittent light snow Saturday isn’t awful.

I think it’s unlikely. If we’re getting that much bigger totals are on the table. And the Euro called me yesterday and asked why Kevin said poor euro…

What do you consider moderate? To me 3-6/4-8.
