Pre-storm atop a parking deck near Roosevelt/Damen and post-storm from Hyde Park. Saw tons of tree damage and some scaffolding that had collapsed on a car along the drive home.
Any chance the LES bullseye ends up a little further SE (Chicago metro and South Side)? Or is it mainly just a question of how much the north side and suburbs get?
EDIT: either way, can’t complain too much with the synoptic snow still cranking down here
hope not, especially given that I'm on the western fringe of HP. either way, should be an interesting drive to the Illinois Medical District for work tomorrow morning.
Right on the fringe of the LES band down here in Hyde Park. Occasional heavy bursts and then just flurries—really wish I was a few miles further south but grateful to be getting a little extra on top of the main event.
Hey y’all, based on these trends, should I go ahead and tell my mom in Durham County (about 5 miles NW of the city) to prepare to lose power? Or would that be jumping the gun?
What it looked like around 4am when I got up to use the bathroom. It's been fun watching that SUV slowly turn into a "snowmobile" over the last couple of weeks.
5 hours later and we’re finally getting some of the goods as that main lake effect band races south across downtown. My boss just told us all to stay home tomorrow
