Definitely a different setup between Tuesday and next weekend. Seems like the majority of the next couple of waves are overrunning while next weekend the trough pushes east and a more formidable surface low develops in the south. Not a very good run at all for DC north unless you're cool with a minor event (I'm kind of over those, but understand that others are happy with whatever falls). Precip output is mediocre and there's only a weak surface low off the coast of North Carolina.

I don't think a front end snow from the 2nd wave is off the table, though...at least not for the northern tier.

It's kind of impressive how the models are showing just about every way we can miss with every wave next week. Too far south, too weak, too north.

The Thursday threat is the one that looks like it has more potential...just not cold enough at this time. The Tuesday situation always seemed waffly...not a big fan of being on the northern edge of systems anymore...I've seen that play out often the last few years and it usually means scraps up here. We need a real storm, not these systems that weaken upon approach. We'll just need to see which of these waves becomes the dominant one.
