    I need to get out to Davis. I heard there's some legit mountain biking there, too. I saw a recent post on X that we actually have more snowfall to date than some parts of Minnesota. That's absurd. I think with temps the way they are, we don't want to can kick to March. I won't lie, though...the weather the last couple days has been absolutely amazing. Hardly a cloud in the sky.

    This weather is pretty outstanding compared to the gloomy stratus we had most of the week. Just got a bike ride in over at the ‘shed. Creeks and streams look a lot healthier than they did over the summer.

    40s and sun > 40s and clouds I’m ok with the upcoming forecast and will embrace the 50s as well. Maybe the following week can produce more wintry prospects.

    My swimming skills are “boogie boarding” level, but I found mountain biking (or biking in general) to be a great complement to basketball bc both can be HIIT/cardio. The benefit of biking is that it’s generally low impact (aside from the gnarly stuff). Soccer thru elem and basketball from middle school on def increased the wear and tear on my back/knees/ankles as I’ve gotten older.

    It wants to snow here once a month. We're gonna have no choice in a few weeks, but to accept that. For now, enjoy the trails and cleared off basketball courts.

    I think we'll get another round of winter by then, but the idea that we're actually good at March snow is a little overrated. It certainly does snow, but we usually don't get wintry periods like we had a couple weeks ago...March is a little more choppy in that regard.

    Yea, but how much of that running is Lamar? I think they threw him off. Overall, they should have mixed it up. Now I want to watch the game again lol. I’m a basketball guy, but football is my 2nd. I still think the Ravens will be back.

    You don't normally beat a blitz by pounding the ball. You try to throw them off via screens, etc., and then that'll open up the run option. I'd have to watch the game again to nitpick, but the lack of any short passes stood out.

    They should have tried to run more, but KC was blitzing like crazy. They needed some quick routes/dump-off's to counter that. Lamar just wasn't getting the time to do much and needed some more options near the line of scrimmage.

    The Ravens are fine. Their game plan was def suspect tho…forget running, they could have lit up KC with quick outs. Regardless, I told a couple friends before the game that this had trap game vibes. KC is legit and obviously coasted all year. Ravens will be back.

    We’re not a winter wonderland (by default). Just think about it…dca averages nearly 9” of liquid equivalent every winter. That means roughly 20% of qpf is snow (give or take)…so once every 4-5 storms (or 1 week per month) we should aim for snow. I’m just painting a general/realistic picture of the climate we’ve always had here while records have been kept. I’m actually more annoyed by the clouds this week than the warmup lol. Hopefully we can get back to increased snow chances in a week or two.

    I keep it light here (and online now) for a reason. I used to post on nba forums and, in hindsight, some of the arguments were just silly. With that said, a little break usually resolves my tendency towards all or none thinking…probably 99 times out of 100 lol.

    I might need to add COD satellite/wv to my rotation, at least as a backup. I've only been using it for radar.

    Sounds like the monthlies might be based on a standard normal distro. Maybe the dailies are either based on a correlation or the value just simply can’t get as high as the normalized monthly value. I’m not sure, though…just brainstorming.

    Having a respite from a wintry week is extremely normal here. We're not wall to wall like Montana. What's nice is the table has been set...we're not scrounging for a minor event anymore. We've got 2 of those in the bag including some localized stat padders. Now, it's just a matter of whether February delivers. I agree that chasing a mecs is rational given the higher pwats that usually arrive. I'm not a hecs chaser...those are too uncommon...when it happens, it happens.

    No prob. Normally, I'm meh on snow flurries/showers aside from snow tv, but this was a legitimate snow squall. However, I think the mod/heavy portion was localized and only lasted a few minutes.
