  1. Expectations exceeded here. Actually some stickage during the heavier rates.
  2. Flurries here and foggy looking over the Catoctin's. You guys weren't kidding...it's gonna snow and there's simply nothing we can do about it.
  3. Tbh, seeing snow around here in November is pretty common...I'd estimate every 2-3 years we'll get at least white rain. So I wouldn't be too surprised. It's the setup that seems a little unusual, but we've had an unusual year...so there's that.
  4. The wind is definitely roaring here. Pretty impressive actually…to the point that I might need to bring in my balcony furniture.
  5. That's certainly more believable than snow in late November from a system meandering over interior New England.
  6. I've seen several inches on top of the Catoctins with basically nothing at the bottom, so I believe the result of that algorithm.
  7. I think even non-snow lovers are prob open to snow at this point. One of my friends who isn’t really a fan of the cold is ready for a real winter. Just hard to believe it happens this year with the exception of occasional potential. I mean the reality is that the climate is warming…people can get caught up in the specific causes, but the facts are the facts. I’d be cool with a 21/22 type of winter which yielded several productive events.
  8. Stiff breeze today out of the nw, but otherwise clear blue since the morning mountain clouds.
  9. BWI: 9.2” IAD: 11.4” DCA: 10.8” RIC: 6.3” Tiebreaker (SBY): 6.1” May adjust as we get closer.
  10. 2013-15 was uncommon, that’s for sure.
  11. More of a soaker than a drencher, but lower sun angle and temps might make it more impactful.
  12. Yea, that was a legendary forecast. I have a difficult time envisioning much snowfall this year given the pattern leading in, but it’s also not that difficult to hit average here, so who knows.
  13. Not the worst rain event we’ve had and, yes, it is indeed bourbon weather. Going with a combo of McKenna 10 and Commanders/Eagles tonight.
  14. I thought he went a bit high in our areas, but I’m in on snow this year…so will take it as well. With temps looking suspect, I think one of the bigger question marks is whether we’ll have enough storms to roll the dice on.
  15. Kammerer went a little below average, but respectable snow totals for a La Niña.
  16. I will say, though, it's kinda refreshing hearing rain on my window.
  17. Yesterday’s euro was kinda underwhelming compared to the gfs and nam. I still pause when I see it on its own.
  18. Had some light rain overhead for about a half hour. Models have shown a productive batch moving in this evening. Definitely a memorable drought ongoing. Reminds me of that early 2000s summer drought. Gotta get that southern stream involved.
  19. You mean it needs to be cold for it to snow? Until we get a seasonable pattern and actual storms, it's logically challenging to argue with your analysis.
  20. Pretty wild to have this type of warmth given the legitimately lower sun angle now. That jet stream has been riding high and I guess it's just gonna take a while to scour out that airmass and build cold air up top. Not really expecting much snow this winter given the inevitable late start to the season and lack of precip, but maybe we can salvage some windows of opportunities during the wheelhouse period.
  21. I could see the Commanders beating Pitt and losing to Philly on a short week. I'm thinking 11-6 should get them into the playoffs which is 4-4 the rest of the way...very doable.
