  1. I’d be with stupid more often if we get a pattern where storms actually traversed south of our latitude.
  2. So basically, we have a better chance at snow in January and February…like every year.
  3. Around 0.2 here. One of those systems where the radar looked better than ground truth. Hoping to see some breaks in the clouds this afternoon…there’s hints of that on satellite. We’ll see if that translates east of the mountains.
  4. Queen is a versatile big, though I do think the lottery pick comments are premature. The NBA is fast, tall, and athletic unless you're Jokic. Otherwise, the Terps are definitely better than last year, but do need to shoot better. Could also use a little more quickness at guard, but I don't think it's a showstopper.
  5. Pretty nice day today albeit breezy. Next system beginning to make its entrance: https://www.star.nesdis.noaa.gov/GOES/conus_band.php?sat=G16&band=08&length=24
  6. I honestly don't lol. I know very well that it's all about the ensembles at that range.
  7. I could stand to add a hike in the snow to my rotation. 18z is rolling now...most important run since 12z.
  8. We might not have a choice this year, but to accept snow.
  9. Quality sunset here...and quality weather in general. We had a couple of bake-off's at work this week, so I definitely needed my basketball sessions today.
  10. Looks like a nicer day on tap with winds turning more westerly and less clouds off the Lakes.
  11. It’s gotta snow at least one of the Hanukkah days this year.
  12. Yea, but what’s important is that it’s also windy…this way outdoor activities are limited and we can spend more time tracking the 10 day ensembles.
  13. Just noticed it’s now gonna be in the 50s from Sunday to Wednesday. Sounds kind of awesome tbh. Would be cool to get snow chances returning in time for Chrismukkah, though.
  14. Kind of a mixed bag here. Definitely some flakes mixed in, though. My balcony faces the mountain chain…looks like snow/fog up there. Wasn’t expected any rain, though…that part is kind of ridiculous given how cold it’s been. Warm oceans and stuff, I guess.
  15. Bacon ridge is apparently a good mtb destination, too. Haven’t been there, but it’s been recommended before.
  16. We’ve had slower starts to winter, that’s for sure.
  17. Had my first snow chase to nearby Clarksburg in my Jeep (bought it in Nov ‘13) during that early Dec storm. Took some video and pretty sure that area is now an entire community near the outlets. Several inches fell. That whole winter was top shelf for this area.
  18. Quite a bit more prolonged snow cover too, even in Silver Spring where I grew up. I remember the 90s being better for the more nw suburbs…lots of snow to rain…and plenty of busts where there’d be a wsw and I’d wake up to wet pavement lol. I think a lot of those were systems that are just simply better modeled now (where the mountains might muck up precip further east). 2000s and beyond have seemed more boom or bust (in general) with less consistency.
  19. I thought the 80s was generally pretty great for snow...like maybe the best decade I've experienced. I was a kid, but still remember a lot of good snowstorms and it made me think snow was a real thing around here. Late 80s to early 90s was less good, though. https://www.weather.gov/media/lwx/climate/dcasnow.pdf
  20. Chilly day, but the sun made it more fun.
  21. 0z Euro looks like cutter-ville. Same issue we've been dealing with the last few years.
  22. That td from cooper back to Allen was fun…and in the snow, no less.
