The winter of the mood flake..

Its the first night it has actually felt like winter outside. Had a Styrofoam ball snow squall for a few minutes this afternoon, ground and asphalt both below freezing.

Could bust the 1/2" mark on this one locally. Best asphalt accumulation of the year!!

This weeks stale cool is the best look for such a long time. Such a bad winter, in comparison to the mean of the last ten seasons. Outlooks in a nutshell. Arctic dreams are just that....

Top shelf weather today.. Don't think a early January day could get much nicer. Then again, a repeat of 5 years today would be nice.

Best fantasy snow of the season IMBY.. I'd be pumped for a solid C-1 at this point. Yet to have any accumulating snow that didn't melt on impact on asphalt. So much equipment sitting idle.

The sled market is flooded... a great time to buy.

My bet is Josh is chomping at the bit to finish that goat trail to the garage. Full sun here today and wore just a T shirt to dinner tonight.

love the snow piles in those pics. Nothing more fun than piling snow with a wheel loader to the sky. Best part of winter.... Still to have a true cold snap in our part or snow in the air that can accumulate on asphalt. I thinking someone warmer by the lake took a road trip and unplugged DTX's snow magnet.

We need to see a prolonged winter pattern before we usher thoughts of spring.

I wonder how the percentile snow totals to date would correspond to averages to date? Seems to me, most if not all locations are on the low side with the lack of snow so far this season.

The next system to produce snow will be a quick to model, verify scenario. Much like the first of the season snows of November.

I find it interesting i'm the lowest with accumulative snows of the season.

Starting to wonder if my trip to Florida for my daughter soccer showcase is in jeopardy From Dec 04-08. As a snow contractor this time of the season is usually not very concerning, this season not so much. A coating wouldn't be too bad the guys could get through it. Anything more would mean a quick flight home for me.

So close, yet so far from a accumulating back yard scenario. Backside mood flakes at best after a gusher of precip.

I do miss the stagecoach era of a few seasons ago.... Wagons North, looking more likely as the data set increases.

Noticed during the heat of the day, most areas in the shade were still frozen. Even some icy snow could be found on the grass and the pond never thawed. Given timing of the onset tomorrow accumulations should be a real threat.

Was 11 during that summer. Thinking back I can remember going to England every summer during that time, so I more than likely missed the bulk of the cold. Reading about the cold front was truly some crazy cold...
