Law of averages wrt seasonal snow totals for a specific locality. Is difficult to topple. In time, it usually works out within par for the course.

I hate reading this thread, when a page takes days to complete. Punts, ZZZZzz's, November snows and south stank are like horderves. They kind of tie you over until the main course. Although, I can't wait for the first seasonal weenie melt down and winter to hunker in.

Snow averages are just that, averages. Epic snows are tough to replicate. Even with a locally record start, averages will sort themselves out in time.

Early snows and cold are good for stat padding, might be a while before true winter sets in....

Will be interesting to watch the advertised eastern cold trough, and if it can withstand time. My bet, is that it will be the dominate flow of this winter season. Blob rules..

In the spring. I can remember rain and cool locking in, which felt like forever. This flip to wintery weather, has me a bit concerned. In my mind, an early onset doesn't always equate to a good long winter trend. The signals are looking promising, by mid/late November we will know for sure. Snow in the Halloween timeframe in Chicago, I wonder of those years. How those winters panned out for the Great Lakes region?
