I don’t expect feet and don’t think most around here, outside of the mountains, do. But a nice 1-2” ground whitening, besides from sleet, shouldn’t be that much to expect. I havnt had a pure snow 1-2” event , in about 5+ years. Havnt even had a rogue sleet pellet this year, and next 2 weeks are looking snowless, but February is CLT s snowiest month, according to averages, so we will have to wait and see

Now if we could put this to use chasing snowstorms, it’d be a lot more fun

Ummm nobody’s talking about the 18z!??? NC gets plastered with snow next Tuesday the 7th! It’s a clipper, but with the worst winter without a winter upcoming, you better take all you can get! It actually blows up just off the N.C. coast! DeeeeTeeeeee is licking his chops!

The drought will definitely be over after the Clemson/LSU game! There’s going to be a lot of waterworks over S.C. and lake Hartwell will be at full pool, when Clemson looses!

When the cold air finally puts Canada in the freezer, when it decides to slide down into the US, it’ll most definitely dump into the West and leave us the the SE ridge and a few more weeks of torch!

The problem is, especially with the GFS is, it shows extremely cold air at long lead times (8-10) days, and actually only verifies at about normal. Normal temps aren’t going to get us snow, and when models show a torch at 8-10 days out, it almost always verifies correctly.The inicies are showing favorable positions for cold and snowy, like -NAO, only to correct to positive at verification time. It’s pretty sad look over all for winter weather lovers! The mountains and ski resorts can’t even make snow the last 3-4 days, it just sucks

The 540 line is in KY. I’m trying to find something positive in the long range, atleast no 60s and 70s, but the GFS looks to have backed off it’s extreme cold around the 7th or 8th

65 before noon , in mid winter, with rain! That’s very impressive!! Waiting on the bathtub to slosh! That’s about 15 degrees above avg already! I remember fondly when we thought December even had a chance to have ‘ normal’ temps as a whole

When it gets inside 24 hours, let me know! But seriously, atleast some cold is showing up and storms keep rolling through, maybe they will meet up at some point verbatim, it’s not cold enough for snow, outside the mountains, but a pretty good setup

The pattern on 12z looks like N.C. gets a few chances at frozen, a few tweaks, and we could be into something bigger ! Pattern is loaded!

Who will be right? TV Mets or Mid Atlantic weenies?? Hmmmmm....
