Bet it's gonna be a late winter...late February and March winter...and we'll be itching for Spring
More like into April and possibly May. The remarkable thing is this wet pattern we have been in for over a year.

And then upper 50’s on Thursday. February’s have really been terrible recently. We lose such a prime part of the winter season.
I remember when we had several Februarys in a row that we had a good snowstorm but recently all they have been is a prelude to spring basically.

Didn't really take the wednesday threat seriously until now. Potential for Frz Rain to fall after some snow(maybe?) in the northern counties is not going to be a good recipe at all.
Still, screw ice, I still want my spring lol.
Yeah it looks like a real mess is going to evolve up there.

Winter storm watch up for the northern mountains. Should be an interesting event since its been dead around here.

Delayed spring seems to be the new normal. This is the 3rd consecutive February with way above average temperatures and flowering trees/bulbs/etc. Only to be followed by a deadly freeze in March and April. And now the mountains look like they will get 4-7" of RAIN in the next 10 days or so. Incredible.
Yeah the wet pattern looks to stay around. Probably a miserable start to spring.

Yeah we are far from over. This winter has been awful though but as some have mentioned this spring is probably going to be delayed.

I'll definitely take some nice weather for now. It will most likely be another miserable March and April again.
You are probably right.

Im wondering how much nwf we'll get out of this. GSP doesn't seem to think there will be much at all.
Yeah the models did not look great for a upslope event behind the front.

I manage the ABC store. Us and Ingles are the most popular places in town when snow is in the forecast. Everyone stocks up on the three essentials, bread, milk and liquor!
Oh ok nice! Yeah I have been in there a time or two lol.

Nice steady snow across Haywood County on my drive from Maggie to Canton. Sticking to the grass but roads are fine so far.
Yep it is nice. You work in Canton? I'm at the Mill.

After a bit of a lull we are back in the snow with the wind picking back up.

Wow. Temps are actually rising a little here. Up .8 degrees in the last hour. Moderate snow with a light breeze.
That wont last long Joe. I think there is a high potential for a flash freeze today.

Flake size getting bigger. Temps still crashing.

Yeah the temp rose just enough after the onset of precipitation yesterday. It sure did pour the rain though.
