12z GFS pretty much follows suite. Some minor changes but the big picture is still the same.

This mornings GFS shows the deep trough and cut off low developing with rain changing to snow for the mountains.  That scenario would bring several inches of snow to the higher elevations this weekend. 

Euro still showing a sharp trough cutting off and possibly bringing some high elevation snow to the mountains for Easter weekend. 

A beautiful frosty morning with a low of 33 degrees.

That trough coming in this coming weekend looks potent. It wouldn't be Easter around here with out it being cold...

Yeah I was going to say the euro shows a potential for a large sized system affecting us in about a week... That being said it could be gone today the way the models have been handling things recently. 

An absolutely stellar day today! 

Not sure how big a threat it is but in about 10 days the Euro is showing a strong trough in the east with some type of system maybe.  Looking at the indices I think this has some merrit with the AO and the NAO finally going negative somewhat.  Something to look at and track possible. 

Snow in the higher elevations of Haywood.

Heavy rain last night then some high winds ushered in the cold air. Temp down to 37 degrees.  I love it.

Another frosty morning.  These past few days have been pure gold. Nice cold mornings and warm afternoons.  Looks like we get another cool down in a few days. Maybe, maybe a high elevation flake. I still cannot believe the persistent plus NAO that we have been in...

Another frosty morning.  We have had more frosts in March than in February.

Yeah this weekend was absolutely beautiful.  Was nice to have a dry weekend for once.

Looks like rain to snow starting tonight into tomorrow morning.  I think this will be an elevation type event for the most part. 

Its coming fellas! Maybe winters last gasp maybe not...

The system around the 19th and the 22nd could be interesting.  Winter is not over yet fellas. 

We may see some snow showers early in the morning on The 16th...

We are expected to get some heavy rainfall here in the SW mountains.  No surprise as we are continuing to run well above normal in precipitation this year alone. We are some 4 to 7 inches above normal already. 

The euro paints a colder picture in about 4 to 5 days. Probably some snow and rain with well below average temps...

Its amazing that at the end of the year we had a huge surplus of precipitation.  So far just in this year we are some 5 to 8 inches above average already.  Just a remarkable full year so far for precipitation across the region. 

Yeah rainy and cold... Cannot catch a break from the rain recently,  at least for an extended period of time.

I welcome more cold weather but with the time change it will be nice to have the sun out longer. The march toward spring is right around the corner. 

Was in Jackson county early this morning and had some impressive thunderstorms roll through. Lots of rain and very windy.
