It does look more whitish. It's absolutely wild looking now, with a silvery sheen and metallic gold spots. Will try to get a pic and post later.

There are def violets though the real patches are not close to the porch. I've seen great spangled fritillaries (best name ever) around in years past, looked up and read larva feed on violets, which is a reason I leave the patches under trees But I didn't read so far to see it's so many species. The shot was actually yesterday and things have progressed today. Spectating. I might need to find a safer spot as plant can blow around/over in a storm.

Oh man. There's been a bird singing, almost hysterically, all day long, every day, very close to my house. It's a tiny house so it's inescapable. People hear it on work calls if a window is open lol. I'm not super versed in bird calls but know many common ones and have been having a tough time. Closest thing sometimes is a cardinal. I also thought I had more than one Close Loud Bird. But, as some of you have already guessed...the culprit is....a mockingbird! All day, every day. Going strong right now. This one is a legit opera singer. So many sounds and songs, it is wild. I'm impressed. And I'm slowly going insane.

Definite coffee on porch morning today. Low 54. Soon it will be soup in the morning..
