  1. Love those old posts...Yes some have had a long downplaying career.
  2. The problem is some posters are just a broken record...same thing every post. Ever notice how with some, you know what they posted even before you read it lol.. It's amazing how well that works for some.
  3. I only wish that ignored posters posts didn't show up when someone quotes them.
  4. Back up to 64° here currently...Tomorrow will see temps dropping towards the 30's by midnight avoiding an even greater departure.
  5. 53/28 temp split here on Friday....Record highs for Sat. and Sun. are 60 and 66 during 42 year period.
  6. 32° for the high today after am low of 22°....Pressure got to 30.76".
  7. I love it all...not just snow. Having your own weather station in your backyard, which I have had since I was ten...makes it all the more enjoyable. I have my own stats, my own normals.
  8. Already the first 6 days of the month with a +7.4° departure...that will decrease some the next few days, then well you know.
  9. Exactly an inch down at 3am...Started to pick up again.
  10. Wow surprised when I woke up lol...Still coming down at a good clip...looks to be approaching an inch on colder surfaces. Temp was 35° at midnight before it began, down to 31° now.
  11. Models really did a poor job on this current rain event...were showing 2" or so amounts thru the weekend pretty consistantly...That changed suddenly yesterday am, now we'll be lucky to see a few tenths.
  12. One of the few rain events of late that models backed off as it approached...Much less expected next couple of days than previously thought. Maybe a hint of things to come.
  13. You tend to get in trouble when you start off your posts with a valid point but usually wind up going over the top...You do it a lot.
  14. Hard to pick out a favorite snowstorm but the boxing day storm may be it for me...The storm itself coupled with it occurring around Christmas...We always would go to my parents on Christmas day to celebrate...Knowing there was a blizzard coming the next day seemed too good to believe.
  15. I know, we all kid. Everything is slanted nowadays....people like you and I know it and filter accordingly... Unfortunately their are alot of people out there who can't think for themselves and believe everything they hear and read. I agree with the above post that people would be more informed if they read a newspaper instead of getting all their news from clicks.
  16. I'm set in my ways lol....I'm 59 years old and have had the morning paper delivered since I was born...Mom and dad did it and I continue to this day.
  17. Merry Christmas to all my fellow weenies...Have a joyful time...
  18. Yes agree...Of course newspapers are the worst place to get a weather forecast because they're printed well before you read them. I've always found that papers are terrible with any type of science coverage especially weather.
  19. The forecasts for the most part have been fine...its the ineptitude of government that's the problem.
  20. My wife is Filipina so of course she was used to warm weather...she's been here 20 years now so she's pretty much acclimated. She enjoys the weather and my fascination with it...loves to hear my weather stories. She's the best.
  21. Wish people would stop using the term "non event" for every storm that doesn't give significant snows for certain areas. I'm picky as I get older.
  22. I didn't know about the story of Stephan Baltz...Wow so sad...I was 11 months old when that accident occured.
  23. I'd hardly call it "horrible"....Sure we'd like more snow, but from an excitement and forecasting viewpoint...I think its pretty good
  24. Wow the early stuff...Had the aneroid barometer...not too good as you mentioned, remember always tapping it? Had a mercury min/max thermo..it had these little markers inside the glass that would stay at the highest and lowest readings..push a button to reset. It had a 6 ft cable which you put out the window. I've had a lot of equipment...Much of it I still have sitting in the basement...looks like a weather museum. First digital unit was a heathkit thermometer...remember those?
