    Yeah agree...As I get older those big 20 inchers have gotten too big to handle, so I like the smaller storms if I had to choose. Now that being said, I certainly will never turn down a whopper if offered.

    Definitely...many times I see something posted which I know isn't correct...That's when I dig out my records.

    Our winters are very variable of course when it comes to snow...The decades though do tend to still average not to far from normal. Decadal snowfall from the 70's thru now range from an avg. of 26.2" in the 80's to 31.6" in the 2000's. The exception of course is the 2010's which have averaged 39.5" , not including this year. These are my SI figures...your results may vary.

    Been measuring snow since 1974...Have had three seasons with under 10" of snow...So far 6.8" this season. Last time with under 10" was 2011-12.

    29/12 temp split today.

    Yeah had another 3.5" on Apr. 2nd...That was also my coldest April on station record.

    March of 18 was excellent here on SI...Had 25" total for month and 13.5" with the 21st-22nd event.

    12° here for low...Coldest of season.

    Mean temp here thru yesterday is 41.6° which is a +9.6° departure....Warmest Feb. is 39.6° set in 2017. We'll see where we end up.

    Temp split today of 47/39 with 0.38" rain.

    12z has it back again...delayed a bit but temps well down in the teens by Sat am and mostly staying in the 20's during the day...

    ^^^^ I remember that storm well...My wife and I had a meeting that we had to attend the next morning in Manhattan...Had to shovel out the car at 4am and drive a couple miles to catch the bus into the city.

    The lake levels are high because of well above normal precip last couple of years.... I remember not too many years prior, the levels were very low and there was concern about that.

    Euro really backed off the cold shot for end of week...went from mid 20's on Friday to low 40's, and lowest Temps from low teens to low 20's by Sat. am. Other models do still show the colder outlook however.

    Euro has us going from 60° Thursday to well down into the teens for Fri--Sat am.

    Low temp here yesterday and today of 27°...still above normal.

    Yesterday's pressure trace, from 28.80" to 29.80" in about 12 hrs.....

    Had a couple gusts to 40 Mph on my vantage... nearby mesonet gusted just over 50.

    Even with a strong nw wind behind a departing record low pressure Feb storm, could only manage 29° for low.

    Still have not reached freezing yet this month...even here in suburbia.
