    Dispute missing the heavier rains on most occasions...have done well here with 1.96" past 7 days.

    EWR does pretty good now...its had some problems in the past. Of course we know about CP...Also LGA has had problems for a long time...Its departures are always so much greater than other stations.

    92 here also...winds went onshore around 3pm so we dropped a bit.

    Temp back up to 80° after dropping to 66° with the t storm around noon.

    Yep remember the criticisms of the bloated city and state budgets the last couple of years...the economy was great so they spent like a drunken sailor, while some warned to be careful cause you never know. Well guess what "you never know" happened. Time to pay the piper and tighten your belts.

    Astro spring at my station turned out to be the 7th coolest in 43 years and the coolest since 2003. Precip of 9.50" was the 4th driest, with about 70% of that total occurring last week of March and April.. Of course it's been very dry now since May.

    ^^^^ I remember that storm well...My wife and I had a meeting that we had to attend the next morning in Manhattan...Had to shovel out the car at 4am and drive a couple miles to catch the bus into the city.

    Hard to pick out a favorite snowstorm but the boxing day storm may be it for me...The storm itself coupled with it occurring around Christmas...We always would go to my parents on Christmas day to celebrate...Knowing there was a blizzard coming the next day seemed too good to believe.

    I didn't know about the story of Stephan Baltz...Wow so sad...I was 11 months old when that accident occured.

    Wow the early stuff...Had the aneroid barometer...not too good as you mentioned, remember always tapping it? Had a mercury min/max thermo..it had these little markers inside the glass that would stay at the highest and lowest readings..push a button to reset. It had a 6 ft cable which you put out the window. I've had a lot of equipment...Much of it I still have sitting in the basement...looks like a weather museum. First digital unit was a heathkit thermometer...remember those?
