Good to see the Fresh Kills ( Staten Island) station is at ground level... The mesonet installed a few years ago at the college is on the roof which made it kind of a waste imo... as mentioned usually too cool during daytime and too warm at night, along with useless snow depth measurments.

I believe a wind off the ocean would help the air quality...I'm usually fine when it comes to allergies but my wife is bothered quite a bit.

Made it to 75° earlier...back down to 67° now with a se wind. Rain total past two days of 0.86".

Winds shifted back to w so temp back up again to 80.

Wind here went sw for one hour around noon with the temp jumping from 73 to 83... thereafter back to onshore and dropping back thru the 70's.

For you hot weather lovers... Today in 2002 marked the first day of an amazing 4 day mid April heat wave..High temps at my station reached 91, 96, 91 and 91 degrees from the 16th thru the 19th.
