  1. Maybe they can roll out 89% relative humidity just for you and the occasion.
  2. Cool rain on a northeast flow. I'd rather take a pass but it is what it is.
  3. So far 1.33" in the tippy bucket from this morning and afternoon. Started to get some ponding in the fields just as the rain rain slacked off for this lull. So far no problems with the amount of rain. But that could change if/when the better dynamics get here and if we get the same amount in a much shorter time frame.
  4. Rush job after work to grab the camera and head to the firehouse. Looking east when I got there. Did not notice till I downloaded that there was some anti-crepuscular rays going on just above the barn. Taken with the 16-35mm at 25mm... First look to the west. Taken with the 24-70mm at 35mm... Some virga looking to the southwest. Taken with the 24-70mm at 45mm... What little red there as to the west with some more virga. Taken with the 24-70mm at 58mm... Last image of the night of the red looking due south. Taken with the 24-70mm at 42mm... Cheers!
  5. Had a weak open wave transit the area today. Gave some perfect clouds. Started off around noon when the wave approached the area. Looking almost straight up at the cirrus. Taken with the 16-35mm at 16mm... When I got out to behind the firehouse for the sunset. Some nice crepuscular rays/cloud shadows that only look like the tree is causing. Taken with the 16-35mm at 35mm... And the post sunset colors starts. The yellow. taken with the 16-35mm at 29mm... The orange. taken with the 24-70mm at 51mm... And ending the night with the max color dynamics/ start of the red. Taken with the 24-70mm at 51mm... Good night my darlin' where ever you are...
  6. I have no idea where or how this slim band of cirrus came to be around sunset? Lake effect clouds? The dry air killed it rather rapidly as the sunset progressed. Just surprised it as there at all. Looking west from up on Hall-Baker road when I got to the firehouse. Taken with the 16-35mm at 16mm... Looking south once I relocated to the grass behind the firehouse. Taken with the 16-35mm at 23mm... As the post sunset started. Taken with the 16-35mm at 23mm... The last remaining piece of cirrus. Taken with the 24-70mm at 70mm...
  7. Took all of the outdoor hoses off of the spigots. Put on all the spigot insulators and hung the hoses up inside the garage till Spring rolls back around. Bring on the cold air, I guess.
  8. I did not know what to expect with this sunset. With the inversion lifting off to the east was not sure if there would be any clouds around. Looking east as I got to the grass area behind the firehouse. Taken with the 16-35mm at 30mm... Just a few smudges of low level clouds glowing orange as the Sun got close to the horizon. Taken with the 24-70mm at 58mm... Fortunately the next wave over towards Missouri was pumping some cirrus into the western sky. Taken with the 24-70mm at 46mm... There was a smattering of red but it as all towards the south and the on-ramp for the interstate was kind of in the way where I was. Taken with the 24-70mm at 70mm... Cheers!
  9. Only two images from today. Both from my yard. Some mid-afternoon cirrus that has some texture to it. Taken with the 16-35mm at 16mm... Last image of the day was of some incidental light in-between two lines of showers, post sunset. Taken with the 16-35mm at 35mm...
  10. Normally this time of year, if it is breezy after sunset, you need to dress in layers. Not here, not tonight. T-shirt weather even in the dark...
  11. Tried a new spot this evening. In past views to the east you can see an elevated roadway in front of a barn looking structure. I was on the side of that road, Hall-Baker Road. Do not care for being right next to that traffic. But it was someplace that looked different. Started off looking to the north from up there. The views to the north look good from up there. Taken with the 16-35mm at 16mm... A view to the west right at local sunset. Taken with the 24-70mm at 48mm... Beginning of the post sunset color. Taken with the 100mm... Back to the north as the red/orange as shifting from the east to the west. Taken with the 16-35mm at 19mm... A view back to the west as the orange got there. Taken with the 16-35mm at 16mm... A vertical view as the color was vacating the area. Taken with the 16-35mm at 35mm... Good night my darlin', where ever you are...
  12. The clouds and the sunset timed out well for me this evening. When I got out to the pond looking east. Taken with the 16-35mm at 29mm... Looking north-northwest. Taken with the 16-35mm at 23mm... The only image from down on the water looking northwest. Taken with the 16-35mm at 16mm... The owners of the new building did not like me down there taking pictures. So I got run out of there. This image is across the street and on the sidewalk. Looking east again at some of the color. Taken with the 16-35mm at 26mm... Last image of the evening from up across from the firehouse. Looking west-northwest. Taken with the 16-35mm at 17mm... Cheers!
  13. I got lucky this evening. Dry air from the east moved in, in the afternoon and displaced all of the low level moisture. But around sunset a tongue of cirrus from the wave to the south, crept into the area in just the right place and time. Looking to the south as I got to the pond and that tongue of cirrus. Taken with the 16-35mm at 35mm... First look west down at the water. Taken with the 16-35mm at 30mm... Close to local sunset. Taken with the 16-35mm at 35mm... And straight to the beginning of the red. Taken with the 16-35mm at 21mm... Ending the night with the last of the red. Taken with the 16-35mm at 35mm... Good night my darlin'. Where ever you are....
  14. This afternoon the inversion broke and had a little convection bubble up. I was sitting on the front steps with the camera and taking crepuscular rays images before the showers came. A little over/under crepuscular ray action. Taken with the 100mm... Some vivid cloud shadows with small iridescence kind of partially hidden. I might have gotten a little over-zealous with the color trying to make the iridescence pop a little more. It is what it is. Taken with the 100mm...
  15. Solid cloud cover over a warm ground does that every time.
  16. Dodging rain drops all afternoon and evening. Starting off with a faint rainbow after a passing thundershower. Taken with the 16-35mm at 32mm... A look northwest right after the rainbow image. Taken with the 16-35mm at 35mm... Arriving at the pond and looking east. Taken with the 16-35mm at 22mm... Looking southwest, down at the water just before the showers on the far right of the image rotated through and chased me back to the car. Taken with the 16-35mm at 27mm... Cheers!
  17. Up to 1.36" here now. A nice soaking system.
  18. A little toy train must have set up bisecting the county southwest to northeast last night with me in the center getting 0.90" in the tippy bucket so far. Agrees well with the radar estimates out of KIND. Now to see if we add anything meaningful on the backside of the system.
  19. Made it out for another sunset this evening. Look at all those ripples! Looking southwest right as I got out to the pond. Taken with the 16-35mm at 28mm... Looking northwest as I got down to the water. Taken with the 16-35mm at 16mm... Cheers!
  20. Approaching system again this evening. Looking to the south as I arrived at the pond. Taken with the 16-35mm at 29mm... Looking to the west close to the best dynamics of the evening. Taken with the 16-35mm at 27mm... Cheers!
  21. Second day in a row of 85 at KIND. I'll gladly take this for the end of September.
  22. The only clouds today were during the sunrise. And they were rather far in the distance and fading east fast. But I did get this one image. Taken with the 100mm...
  23. Busy, busy day behind the viewfinder. There was a wave rotating through the area and I was on the very southern part of it. Started off the day around noon when some cirrus was the vanguard of the wave and put some texture in the sky. Looking northwest. Taken with the 16-35mm at 21mm... Looking northeast and using a circular polarizer to make the sky pop a little bit more. Taken with the 24-70mm at 35mm... Looking east above the police station and using the circular polarizer again. Taken with the 24-70mm at 30mm... And now onto the evening and back out at the pond. Looking southeast when I got out there. Taken with the 16-35mm at 16mm... Looking north northwest. Taken with the 16-35mm at 21mm... Start off the color portion of the evening with a parhelia (sundog) on the southside of the Sun. Taken with the 24-70mm at 45mm... And now onto the max color dynamics of the post sunset. Taken with the 16-35mm at 27mm... And ending the evening with the fading color moving off to the western horizon. Taken with the 24-70mm at 60mm... Good night my darlin' where ever you are...
