2 decent moderate events the last week of February salvaged the winter. There were 2 busts that were painful in January Superbowl Sunday ( Bears vs. Patriots ) was supposed to be rain changing to snow with up to 6 inches expected. The other bust was a 3-6 inches forecast and ended up with zilch.

There's historically been toughly 7 or 8 teams that do what ever they can to throw away games and find improbable ways to lose but the Vikings have to be at the top. Even when they were really good in the 70's they pulled off some epic collapses.

Well you were extremely unlucky in that one location because every area surrounding Emmitsburg recorded double what you saw. I would not label that storm a bust for the northern tier. It was clear by gametime that the huge totals models were spitting out a few days before we're not going to be realized. For mid December it was a very decent storm. Other than a few members almost everyone received some accumulation.

I just went back and looked. We got over 10 inches here. There's no way Emmitsburg only got 4 inches. Mappy got over 8. Frederick was 6-8. The storm did suck for a lot of the forum but anyone north of the Baltimore Beltway got at least 4 and most areas just inside the Beltway got 2-4.

Have not seen a single one north of Hampstead. Last Saturday at a little game in Westminster and not a one there either.

Worst loss ever. Even worse than the loss to Duke in the final 4 that same season. Arguably it was the best thing that could've happened to them. They went into a tailspin after that loss and eventually suffered a horrible home loss to an average at best Florida State team. After the Florida State loss Juan Dixon and Gary had a face to face sit down and the result was a big change in Gary's handling of the team. They went on to regroup and play superb basketball the rest of the season. They beat Duke at Duke in the rematch. Then lost a tough game to Duke in the ACC tournament semifinals. They had 4 epic battles with Duke during that season that year. Duke went on to win the national championship.

Brutal end to the regular season. All their improvement was thrown away in 2 pitiful games. Just awful losses. May have played themselves out if the tournament.

Good post. Yes it was North Carroll Middle. I have a 2 daughter's at Manchester Valley High School. One of them is starting in person tomorrow. The other one wants to start some time in March. I'm ok with it now. I also have a daughter in 5th grade at Ebb Valley Elementary and a stepson at North Carroll Middle. Both of them will go back in March. Most leading doctors agree they should go back in person in some form. I guess we'll see how everything plays out with more vaccines being distributed and new strains of the virus becoming more prevalent. We're still being as careful as possible and hoping for the best.

A school employee at one of the local middle schools here died a few months ago due to Covid. The situation was hushed. How many other cases were not disclosed?

Yeah, been a crazy year. Never have seen such dramatic differences in such a short distance. Can you believe PSU's total is 6 inches more than mine and I can see his house from my back deck. I'm at 860ft. and his is roughly 1050ft. He is at 51 inches and BWI is 10.3. Just absurd.
