  1. Wonder how often we'll see this this Winter? AFD for the upcoming weekend. The upper trough will really swing around and drive the low northward by Saturday afternoon and there is some signal for a Carolina split where we would not get a lot of the moisture.
  2. An EF2 tornado hit Emerald Isle Saturday with top winds of 120 mph. A separate tornado with top winds of 80 mph hit Cape Carteret. These pictures are near 8th street in EI. Full details here: https://www.weather.gov/mhx/EmeraldIsleTornadoNov242018 …
  3. NWS Raleigh‏Verified account @NWSRaleigh 1m1 minute ago After today marked the 10th straight day of below-normal high temperatures at Raleigh-Durham and Fayetteville (and the 9th straight day at Greensboro), tomorrow looks to finally bring back highs in the 60's to much of central NC! #ncwx
  4. Fake news??? Patrick Rockey WTKR‏Verified account @PatrickRockey 6m6 minutes ago #SNOW COVER: Here's a look at how much snow is covering the lower 48. Check Radar: http://bit.do/radar3 #FirstWarn3
  5. Going to be a tough week for the Florence/Matthew recovery areas.
  6. I guess that was some sort of cold front or something that came dripping through this afternoon. Seems like it's been forever since we've had a frontal passage in central NC with any kind of energy with it. Made it up to 79 this afternoon.
  7. NWS Atlanta‏Verified account @NWSAtlanta 2m2 minutes ago The risk for strong to severe thunderstorms remains beginning during the very early morning hours on Tuesday, Nov 6th in Northwest Georgia and transitioning southeast through the day. Damaging wind gusts and brief tornadoes remain the primary expected severe threats. #gawx
  8. NWS Raleigh‏Verified account @NWSRaleigh 5m5 minutes ago After a dry weekend, a cold front will move across central NC on Election Day, bringing scattered showers and thunderstorms, some of which could be strong to severe. The main threats are damaging winds and a possible isolated tornado. #ncwx
  9. 0.44" last night and 2 bonus flashes of lightning!
  10. 37 this morning. Peaked out at 73 today.
  11. From RAH 10/31/18 Friday evening, the accompanying cold front will approach the area with the upper level jet streak strengthening (nearing 170 kts). The RRQ and DCVA from this will support robust upper level support. Due to the strong shear, upper level support, PWATS, and marginal instability, isolated rounds of severe weather looks possible. In particular, a high shear/ low cape case for isolated tornado development (or damaging wind potential) will exist.

Here's a look at the rainfall potential from Friday morning through Sunday evening. It would be a good idea to keep the umbrellas handy through the weekend. @WRALWeather
