Pretty steamy out there this afternoon, as the dews have shot up into the 70s. Nice towers building all around.

Answers my question, too. But just in case ASOS goes belly up, do you have equipment to use for manual obs? Hand held devices maybe? Back in my Army days, we used a hand held anenometer, a psychrometer for dry/wet bulb (twirl that for a minute or so), and a rather large barometer. Of course that's old school. It's all digital stuff now.
Stebo after the ASOS craps out.

Yeah. GFS has pretty strong WNW 500mb flow for the time of year over us next Tuesday/Wednesday, but suggests instability will be lacking.
Despite being a career chase for me, March 31 is too damn early for our season to start and finish.
Well if it makes you feel any better my 2016 chase season peaked even earlier on March 15th with the Good Hope IL nader lol.

Nice, looks like a real nice soaker.
Got a curtain call in progress here as some new cells are popping up just off to the west.

Got drenched walking through the parking lot at work. Probably got a good inch there as it dumped for quite a bit.
Picked up 0.22" here from anvil rain. Up to 1.81" since a week ago.

On the western edge of tomorrow's setup here. Hoping we can cash in on a decent rainer as we still desperately need the moisture.

94 at MLI today, 90 here.
After mid 90s tomorrow and Wed gonna get a nice long break from the heat from Thu onward. Not gonna be quite as frosty as it has been at ALEK's though lol

After the Aug 10 2020 Derecho we were without power from Monday afternoon until Friday morning. Definitely gives you an appreciation for electricity, which most of us take for granted. Feel for you guys down south, hope things get up and running sooner than anticipated.

Great soaker today with the northern edge of the deep convection passing through. Picked up 1.17", which bumped us up to a bit over 2" for June.

KORD office was riding the HRDPS and it looks like it performed very well with this
Big props to that model. It's been advertising this for days. Blowing the HRRR/NEST out of the water the past few years to be sure.

Not sure if Broyles issued a crappy day 3 outlook early this morning, as a new updated day 3 has been issued earlier this afternoon to replace his original day 3.

Some decaying Iowa sloppy seconds moving in early this morning with some incoming anvil sprinkles.
Concerned tomorrow's activity may fire up just east of here.
