  1. Low of 53 tomorrow then mega heat cranks next week. Virtually zero precipitation in the forecast for 10 days. End of August/beginning of September has been a hot bed of hot temps in recent years.

I speak for all when I say a strengthening El Niño is a welcome site after years of La Niña.

Yeah the precursor to our epic winter that followed

The most brutal winter of my life. Historic arctic outbreaks, 11/17 tornado outbreak, polar vortex blizzard, Thundersnow, multiple winter storms. Man 13-14 was legendary.

For sure. Usually I run a bit drier than nearby stations, and rarely pop to the 80s

    That’s insane. I haven’t had a 83 dew since summer 2011.

Currently 64/55 here with a breeze.  In the shade, almost need a flannel.  Bonfire and beer tonight.

    Jelly. That sounds amazing.

  4. Need to go back and look but this might be one of the hottest days by heat index standards here in quite sometime. KCMI just reported 92/80/111 my dad on his weather station 20 miles from me has 94/80/114

EDIT: I’m thinking maybe since summer 2011. I seem to re call I had a 81-82 dew point with a 96-98 temperature. Hmm need to look at that. My pool is 87 degrees lol

Dry, dry, dry for the rest of the month.

Yeah seems the rain chances are going to be few and far between for the northern portion of the sub. August is going to be an interesting month with a strengthening strong El Niño. How the hell are we 6ish weeks away from met fall?

Anyway, I’m taking advantage of the warm summer and drier days ahead, me and the pops are hitting the lake this week for crappie fishing. Time to stock the deep freeze.

  6. It appears cyclones call for a wet July has come to fruition, at least here locally, as training thunderstorms brought 3.50” of rain Saturday morning. Multiple chances of rain this coming week, the flash drought should soon be a distant memory.
