83 with full and a gentle breeze, just a banger of a day. Fired up the blackstone and made smash burgers. Extended looks pretty decent. Can’t wrap my head around next week being May already.

I know they dont mean anything by it, but every year without fail (regardless of what kind of winter we have), the cool thing to do on this board is to hope for "Morch" and those of us who root on spring snowstorms are crazy. It makes legit zero sense to me why anyone would root on an agricultural disaster. Fortunately, nothing close to 2012 has happened since.
still insane we lived to see 80s in the middle of March for days on end with upper 80s in many locations. Just freaking bananas. -

We can Morch?
Both Euro and GFS say YES! Western portion of the sub flirting with upper 70s by the second week of March and everyone else in the upper 60s low 70s.

Looks like models have backed off the cool shot the first half of March, first few weeks look pretty mild for a majority of the sub.

I’m just glad it’s almost curtains for what has been another clunker of a winter season. Looking at my extended, it looks fairly mild.

12 days left of February and a possible warm up to end the month and begin March, any chance of sustained winter has virtually been thrown out the window at this point. Bring on spring and thunderstorms.

Dusting of snow and a glaze of ice that melted within a few hours. Spring can’t get here fast enough. Another pretty lousy winter.

Ready to punt on this winter, the extended looks blah. The spring tease next week will be great though!

There are people in New Orleans showing measurements of 12". I have lived in Cedar Rapids for 50 years and I have never measured 12" from any storm.
Wait, what? Not even during 2013-2014 or 2014-2015? That’s a remarkable statistic.

Yeah this dry air is BRUTAL, checked in on a friend who lives in Champaign and he says it’s snowing like crazy there
I’m south of Champaign in between Savoy and Tolono, and yes it’s ripping good here. Local met said heavy bands coming this afternoon.
temps are also cooler than anticipated, currently 21 and mod snow.

Cantore had Thundersnow live on camera earlier just west of Topeka. It’s also fun to see this storm hit during the day. Looks like a band of heavy snow just off to my west.

Woke up to light snow underway in Chalreston, coating on all surfaces
You’re locked and loaded for a 8-12” storm, enjoy

Ripping good right now, definitely overcoming the dry air that was a concern early on.

Light snow has commenced here, ahead of schedule. HRRR still showing extremely heavy snowfall, overachiever? We shall see.

As an alumnus of UofI and living there many years and not getting much snow, I'm rooting for ya!
Ha, thanks! I’m actually just south of Champaign in Savoy, near Willard airport. The jackpots have been few and far between for the last decade

Can tell this storm is missing the Chicago/Detroit corridor. Board is dead quite, would be fucking hopping if that area was jack potting
I feel like the bastard child right now. Although, the jackpot is likely to miss by 25-50 miles to my south. HRRR annihilates Champaign though.

3.2” final call. Southern trend will not be denied. Winter Storm watch can be cancelled in my neck of the woods.

Corn was declared 100% loss just south of here by the 3rd week of July during the brutally hot summer of 2012. By the second week of May it was already in the 90s. Insane spring/summer.
