  1. Yikes that’s gonna leave a bruise. New Orleans might have to change their name to Atlantis after that
  2. Does this stored energy carry over from season to season as well?
  3. I never realized that the ‘38 storm was a CAT 5 at one point
  4. Maybe we can get a smoke-a-cane if we can’t get the hurricane
  5. Never really felt it with Henri. Too many things had to go “perfectly” for it to be a big deal up here
  6. No lightning with this so I’m kinda meh about it
  7. Harvey Leonard hitting the severe threat tomorrow afternoon when the rain comes back east
  8. Earlier the storm looked like a fetus but now it looks like a pregnant cat so maybe that’s progress in some dark and unnatural way
  9. Any appreciable tornado risk on the east side?
  10. Hurricane Belle part 2 45 years later
  11. Hurricanes like people were tougher then lol
  12. I’m starting to think this is kind of like a movie which starts out great but ends up having a ridiculously bad ending. I hope I’m wrong
  13. All I know is I have enough bread and milk now to survive two blizzards of ‘78, a derecho and a strong gust front
  14. If it stays a mess NYC can keep it
  15. When should we begin to notice any appreciable intensification with this?
  16. There is for both ‘38 and 1815 in fact
  17. Would the development of an “inner core” be indicative of rapid intensification?
  18. I compared this storm to that one a bit earlier as well
  19. Hurricane Bob was at least a good example of how being on the right or left of the eye can make every difference as far as felt impact
  20. Potential weather event of the decade maybe (locally)?
  21. How could I not know of this?? Grizzly Adams in a hurricane??
  22. When a storm is threatening I like to watch the 70’s classic “When Havoc Strikes” on YouTube. Puts one in the mood
  23. Unless this unexpectedly blows up into a strong cat 3 or 4 today, I definitely think the legacy of this one will be the rain/tidal flooding aspect.
