  1. The 1/6 storm snowcover lasted a month. This one lasted 36 hours.
  2. Pann also infamously went too low in Snowmageddon part 1, though not nearly as bad as 2016.
  3. 9.1" storm total, and exactly 23" for the year, so I'm climo+ now. The next goal will be exceeding the 28.3" seasonal total in 2015-16 (the snowiest winter IMBY since I moved down here). Congrats to all in this thread; this has been our year for once!
  4. 9.1” total, which makes this the 4th biggest snowfall IMBY since I moved here.
  5. ^Get a load of this dumbass! One of the worst posters here by far.
  6. Up to 7.6” here. -First February WSW IMBY since President’s Day 2016. -5th biggest snowfall IMBY since I moved down here in 2013.
  7. I measured 4.8” about 30 mins ago. Still snowing hard obviously.
  8. Everything has caved and tbh I think this is going to end up on the higher end of the forecast.
  9. Snowing hard now and laying on grass.
  10. 37 and snowing fat flakes, but too warm to accumulate so far.
  11. Sun is trying to poke through the light gray skies here. Spiked to 37 degrees.
  12. 0.79” of rain here overnight. 29 days of snowcover has finally come to an end. Waiting for a reload.
  13. I still have some patches of snow and ice IMBY, mostly in shady spots. So that’s been 27 days of snow on the ground. December gets an “F” but January gets an “A” for sure.
  14. If space weather counts, then the solar eclipse (in Bristolville, OH) and the Oct. 10 aurora IMBY were the obvious winners. For non-space stuff, it would have to be the beautiful dry weather stretch in October.
  15. I told you guys before, in the new normal it only snows in January. Peak climo has moved up and the window of significant snow opportunities has been compressed IMHO
  16. 0.4" for this storm, bringing the monthly total to 13.9". My target now is: 1) keeping the snowpack all month 2) clinching snowiest month ever IMBY (the record for that is 16.7" in January 2022). Let's keep the nickels-and-dimes going!
  17. It just wants to snow IMBY this year no matter what. Roads and sidewalks are starting to cave.
  18. GL to you all up north. I just want to get on the board here again to keep the snowpack going (I’ve had snowcover since Jan 3, which is nuts for this place). Another 0.1”-0.5” is good enough for me.
  19. For once I’d like to see a snowfall contest clinched by February. This might be the year. @George BM
  20. 0.8” final total on the snowboard. Roads and sidewalks didn’t fully cave. This is day nine of snowcover IMBY so I’ll take the little refresh.
  21. I remember Jan. 2000 very well, but I don’t think we’ll ever see such a huge bust in the short range like that again; models have come a long way since then, especially in the last decade.
  22. Snow-on-snow-on-snow for me, I'll take anything.
  23. That’s always how it’s been historically, but over the last decade it seems to have shifted to the first three weeks of January. I have no idea if that’s just a weird coincidence like Dec. 5 was in the 2000’s, or if it’s a shift towards a new normal.
  24. Yes I’m a trained spotter with an ID, been sending in reports for a decade now. The issue seems to be that I am in the same location as State Highway (1 S Prince Frederick in their metadata) so whomever sends in the latest report overwrites the other. Or at least that’s what I was told. This issue never occurred until last year, when they started using “Dept of Highways” measurements. In the case of State Highway next to my house, the measurements are always too low and appear to be snow depth (that’s my guess anyway).
