  1. I am tracking a potential HECS in this same house exactly ten years later (but with three more kids this time lol). Time is a flat circle (IYKYK).
  2. I know I'm gonna forget a bunch of people, but here goes: @csnavywx who is the best with SOMD climo. @MillvilleWx for being extremely knowledgeable and also one of the nicest posters on here. @RodneyS for knowing all the stats and for taking the snow contest off my hands. Same for @Roger Smith who helped me a lot with that too back in the day. @WxWatcher007 for reaping me many times, also one of the nicest posters on this forum. @George BM for always liking my posts when no one else does @Jebman for being the biggest weenie ever, and for his legendary rant at a New Englander over a decade ago. @Wxdavis5784 for your bold act of self-sacrifice years ago; your leaving the region has brought SOMD untold numbers of MECS. @EastCoast NPZ for helping me choose which cacti to get in my yard whenever we find a place to move to in the Shenandoah Valley. Everyone who has posted with me in the SOMD / Eastern shore forum (too numerous to mention).
  3. Final total: 0.3" on the snowboard. Roads and sidewalks didn't cave. On the board for January at least.
  4. I have a cousin in Enterprise, Alabama and she has snow again just like last year... I’m pretty sure she’s beat Stephens City two years in a row now.
  5. None of this is surprising, it’s pretty much on-brand for a La Nina: the front-loaded cold, the dry air, the snow hole over the mid-Atlantic, etc. If we were seeing lots of Perfect Track Rainstorms like a few years ago I’d be pissed and start talking about “the elephant”, but this winter has been what I expected so far, looking historically. I don’t think we’re done with snow yet anyway.
  6. 1/6/25 snowstorm was event of the year and of the decade for me (so far). Really that entire January was good, with snowcover lasting until the end of the month.
  7. There is a very light dusting on the ground here- Happy New Year!
  8. Unedited sunset pic I just took in my neighborhood
  9. I’m not sure why LWX added a 40% chance of snow Monday night into Tuesday in my forecast today? Is any model even showing snow in this time frame?
  10. You all keep talking about eating a shoe- here ya go https://www.dennys.com/news/maple-magic-dennys-unveils-sticky-kicks-worlds-first-sneakers-made-real-syrup
  11. LWX had my spotter report posted for awhile yesterday, but once again later dropped it for State Highway’s inflated 2.0” I noticed hardly anyone is submitting spotter reports in Calvert anymore- or else they’re just not using them. Idk They still take all the (more accurate) Cocorahs reports at least. Calvert had a lot of those (including mine, which is still up). The BWI measurement was absolute bullshit too… I was up there today lol
  12. Two vultures way up in the trees. Two frozen apples on our Granny Smith tree. Our Christmas Ducks got paste bombed lol
  13. Final total 1.4” 2.9” for Dec. which makes it the snowiest Dec. since I moved down here in 2013. Man this is a beautiful snow- taking tons of pics.
  14. 1.2” here so far… we’re definitely making up for the delayed onset.
  15. Heavy snow here now, big wet flakes- starting to paste to everything.
  16. 35 and finally flipped to all snow, let’s see what we can get out of this.
  17. 36 and mostly sleet. Some slushy accumulation on grass. We have been about 2-3 degrees above forecast IMBY since yesterday afternoon, so temps have been an issue.
  18. Post #2 should’ve been #1. Wrong poster started the topic- a small change in initial thread conditions that will have enormous negative consequences down the line. Deterministic chaos. “You’re goofy” ”Don’t piss me off, Art!”
  19. I have watched a many a snowstorm get chewed up by mountains lol
  20. This is a bit out of your range, but we had 15 consecutive below average days at BWI from 12/25/2017-1/8/2018- most of them double digits. That cold snap was impressive- I remember it well- but it seems to have been forgotten by many.
  21. Were you here in 1994? An ice weenie’s dream come true. That was fun as a kid, but I don’t think I wanna go through that as a homeowner lol
  22. Can I change my tiebreaker from SBY 7.0" to LYH 9,000"? Thanks in advance.
