  1. My wind speed seems remarkably consistent today: I know we're geographically distant, but I'd be interested to see what you're recording, @Hurricane Agnes.
  2. Mine came on all of a sudden like an allergy attack Tuesday afternoon, but it's lingering like a cold this morning. Sudafed and Mucinex are the only things keeping me from feeling like absolute crap. Hope you get better soon. Looks like sustained 10-15mph with occasional gusts nearing 20 imby. Currently just under 50°F, bright and sunny, though this morning before the sun was up I was getting late fall vibes.
  3. Winds are already howling, too. I'm supposed to be out in it again but I'm taking a sick day. Hoping my head cold is just that.
  4. Holy moly was it ever so windy on the waterfront today! (near Pennsville, NJ) I've been away from it for over 2 hours and my face still hurts. Why I didn't put on one of the many, many gators I keep in my car, the world will never know.
  5. Some pretty beautiful Asperitas clouds over our region at the moment.
  6. I'm all for delaying the sweaty season as long as possible. Made it to 62.2°F here today with some sprinkles between 2-3PM. Tomorrow looks like fantastic grilling weather, and I've got some butterflied chicken breasts marinating in several different marinades, ready to go on the grill as soon as I'm done mowing my lawn tomorrow.
  7. We hit just north of 60 here today, and it's hovering around 58 right now. Going out to attempt to mow. Might have to put the mower on its highest setting though.
  8. I think I just heard some thunder. .92" in the gauge, 38.8°F and pressure still falling. Pretty good spring Nor'easter thus far.
  9. 38.6°F with heavy rain incoming. Up to .31" for the day as of now. I'm gonna need a brush hog to cut my grass when it ever dries out.
  10. 18Z GFS wants to give 7" total snow to central and northern Berks into Tuesday. LOL In other news, I'll be wearing winter weather gear while doing some fieldwork early tomorrow morning. Yep, definitely getting 2020 vibes here.
  11. Got down to 31.2 this morning. My wife is chomping at the bit to start planting in our new raised beds--she has seedlings sprouting in little pots all over the house and like 4 boxes of plants from Bloom Box "sheltering in place" in our garage. Hopefully that's the last frost advisory of the season.
  12. Can't recall the last time I mowed in a winter jacket, if ever. It's a bit brisk out there!
  13. Briefly sprinkled here. 46.5°F and dark overcast. It's been a little bit gusty as well.
  14. It rain slush on me about 45 minutes ago while I was out running errands. So much for "AM showers" lol
  15. Up to 1.4" as of right now, and 2.23" for the week. Our collective lawns are about to explode.
  16. Yesterday felt like late fall around here, since it was cold and blustery and the trees are all still bare, and today feels like more of the same only not as breezy. One of my neighbors was out doing yard work in a winter jacket and knit hat; it just seemed incongruous to me. My own lawn is starting to have patches of mowable grass, so next weekend I guess it'll be my turn (especially if all of this supposed rain in the forecast comes our way). Currently overcast and 50°F. Enjoying this while it lasts. I have several large outdoor projects in the queue for late spring and summer (building a deck, rebuilding and staining my fence, and the yearly mulch refreshing to name a few). I am definitely not looking forward to the sweaty season.
  17. Up nearly a half inch of precip from round two. Total 1.21" tonight thus far.
  18. Ok, looks like I'm about to get round two. Seeing some significant pink in the radar returns to my west; hope that passes us by as both of our cars are parked outside due to an ongoing woodworking project taking up the entire garage. (Building some enclosed raised beds and tomato towers fwiw.)
  19. Convection picked back up again after it hopped over Reading. Got .75" in the gauge, temp now at 59°F, down from 66 right before the storms.
  20. All the thunder and lightning around Reading just kind of... stopped? We're getting fringed by the heaviest rain, too. Hoping the main line that's still moving east won't dissolve like everything else. Sheesh, what gives?
  21. Thankfully not seeing much in the way of rotation out this way.
  22. Mesoscale Discussion 0378 NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK 0240 PM CDT Thu Mar 31 2022 Areas affected...South-central into northeastern Pennsylvania Concerning...Severe Thunderstorm Watch 87... Valid 311940Z - 312145Z The severe weather threat for Severe Thunderstorm Watch 87 continues. SUMMARY...Threat for damaging wind gusts and a couple of tornadoes, particularly in parts of central/eastern Pennsylvania, will continue this afternoon/evening. A new watch will likely be needed into parts of southeast New York and New Jersey as activity continues to the east. DISCUSSION...Skies have remained relatively clear across parts of central/eastern Pennsylvania ahead of a line of convection that has shown increase in coverage and lightning activity. Surface observational trends have also shown a localized area of pressure falls ahead of this activity. Damaging wind gusts and isolated marginally severe hail will remain a concern as these storms continue eastward. Given the backed surface winds in eastern Pennsylvania and 850 mb winds that should remain strong to the east, there will also be a threat for QLCS circulations/tornadoes. As this activity is expected to continue into southeastern New York and New Jersey, a new watch will likely be needed this afternoon. ..Wendt.. 03/31/2022 ...Please see www.spc.noaa.gov for graphic product...
