  1. OMG, we have actual precip here! The storms actually closed in and we're up another .2" for the day!
  2. You know what though? This is a pretty neat even to track as that low stalls out over the Great Lakes. At least some weather in the region is better than no weather in the region. So while I may be personally offended that it all seems to keep missing me, at least it's entertaining.
  3. And again, I find myself in the middle of a split system. Unbelievable. (I'm just west of the "S" in South Temple.) It's all parting around us. There has to be something about our local geography that causes this to happen so very, very often, I just can't figure out what.
  4. No no, you were right. We got close to half an inch precip a couple of weeks ago, and that completely filled the barrel. I probably could have worded that better though. I live in an L-shaped split-level, so lots of roof area drains into my east corner, in the back of the house. The new one should get a lot of the runoff from the western side of the house, out in front.
  5. Well, see, I went and did a dumb. I installed ANOTHER barrel last weekend. So I have no one to blame but myself. First barrel did fill up with only 1/2" of rain though, and I expect the second will as well. Actually, it probably already has some in it from this morning, I completely forgot to check!
  6. Looks like the red stuff is going to miss us. Again. Dangit. Maybe tomorrow? Seems pretty insane to need to run my garden irrigation with all of these storms swirling about, but there you have it.
  7. It's cooled off nicely, down to 77 and the DP is also down somewhat to 66. Still nothing since this morning though.
  8. Heavy clouds rolling in now. Starting to see stuff firing off to the west. Currently 85°F, DP is 76.
  9. Sun's out here, and a flood watch is up. Fingers crossed~
  10. Here's a quick YT video of the cloud development as viewed from my NE facing security camera, recorded at 30fps with pictures every 30 seconds. Pretty wild. (You can fast-forward a bit to get to the afternoon if you like.)
  11. Getting fringed again. Can't catch a break. Two days in a row with storms forecasted all day and just .07" to show for it. Tried to dig a hole to plant a tree in the front yard and the soil is dry as a bone still. Had to break out the pick axe! I live right between these two cells and they are both going to pass by.
  12. Got up to 90 earlier, so at least it's cooled down a bit here. It was pretty gross working outside earlier though.
  13. Another day of hot and humid, with torrential downpours that completely avoid my locale. Picked up .07" yesterday morning for a total so far of 2.84" for June, which is about half of last year's amount thus far, but actually slightly more than June 2021. Really hoping for some more today, but we'll see.
  14. I'll take it. The days only get shorter from here on out. Happy Summer Solstice, everyone!
  15. Looks like it on GOES-East. That's fine, it can stay up there this time thankyouverymuch.
  16. Ok, this is weird. Here's my radar at the moment: and here's my view to the west: I think there's so much wind behind this that it blew all of the precip out in front. It got crazy gusty here, and then we had some brief rain spattering on the front of the house, and now it's calmer and sunny. Pretty wild. FWIW, none of this even registered in the rain gauge.
  17. Crazy windy here on the back side. Looks like we might get a 2-second downpour as well.
  18. Reading redirect in full effect here: Ah well, I'll take my measly .12" from this morning and hope for more next time.
  19. It did here, and temp shot up from 61 to 70 in les than an hour. Big anvil-shaped clouds to my west, we'll see if anything comes directly my way. But you guys further east should keep an eye on the radar--it looks like all of these discrete cells might want to link up after the roll through here.
  20. Looking forward to maybe a little bit more rain tomorrow. My garden really enjoyed yesterday. In other news, it's only 8 days now until the days start getting shorter again!
