It does because there is a wide expanse of a snow pack to the south and there is a pretty cold air in place ahead of the system. The WAA will produce precip and a good portion will be snow.
Not to mention Decembers as of late have been pretty bad so was it really surprising to have a bad start to the winter? No but when you are start talking about it people start to get blinders on like it will never change. In a moderate La Nina you can do that to your own peril.
Not really, just pointing out how the futility talk looks dumb when the winter was barely started. No one really cares, its like a poster coming along talking about sunshine all the time.
I mean talking about it as early as you guys do is a bit tired especially in a first year la nina. It was pretty obvious none of the futility was happening.
