  1. Almost like no amount of rainy days is going to keep some of this grass green if it is in full sun all day. Maybe I am just nostalgic but I remember laying in green grass for July 4th just 15 years ago. Possibly a different kind of grass. Now its becoming common place to mow twice a week in May, once a week in June and then 2-3 times a month in July and August.
  2. Just took one day of full sun and you can see the dryness in the grass already. After three straight days of rain and no sun. Crazy town.
  3. Thanks, it was stupendous out. And not too crowded. We got the table in the first area that sits right in front of the creek as it trusn around the pool so a prime spot. It was in the shade and did not have a grill so was still free at 10:30. I definitely like the Michaux parks a lot better than Pinchot but that is the mountain lover in me :-). Yea, on your trip there is nothing you can do to change the weather....but I do hope the actual weather gives you a bit of a break and allows you to have some good beach time.
  4. Spots in the sun at a premium. Only 54 our here right now at caldadonia.
  5. Perfect timing. Caledonia here we come. Ironically the pool there is closed because they cannot find enough employees.
  6. Paweather calling for cold weather in June. The forecast is in! Frankly the thing that would make me happiest is if somehow OBX is not nearly as rainy next week as models suggest...for our friend going on Vaca. Sucks to drive that far and then not have beach weather.
  7. Wow. Was that one of the years MDT set a record? I was figuring with the way Memorial day vacillates around end the end of May the chances of hitting one with a temp colder than 42 was low.
  8. Just put my winter vests away...for the second time this season. Is that it @paweather? Or will I need to pull them out in June?
  9. Sunny and 42 . Possibly the coldest open to a Memorial day in history.
  10. Measuring the white stuff in May. Cannot ask for more, right?
  11. Ha. Probably not until at least Thursday if not Fri or Sat. It does feel good to have this year in the history books for two days. MDT is down from 54 to 53 now so the record should be in the books for today. Nighttime low record seems doubtful though. I see the 12Z GFS dropped 1/2" on @canderson this afternoon. LOL
  12. I think you may be the board winner. I am just around 2". Still suspect some areas of eastern Lancaster county got up to 3"
  13. The lessened rain has taken away our chance of staying in the 40's. Dry here now and 50. Mushrooms growing up in the yard because my grass is so immature. Suggests the yard is quite wet. Mdt has reported rain at 4 of the last 7 intervals but not accums. Need an investigation. Ha
  14. It started raining here again. Roads wet. A heavy drizzle. .05" today. Sunday's festivities punted into Monday. Tomorrow looks good right now though.
  15. @TimB84, 6Z GFS does bring back normal temps for us next weekend but spares us an extended period of above normal though mid June. Concentrates the real heat toward the middle of the country. Did not check Dp's just temps.
  16. You are in the strip of dry. MDT did report rain this AM though. We have finally had a several hour period of dry.
  17. On and off rain over here. 45. Still think mdt might breach 50 when the rain stops. Should hopefully hold on for another record though. Edit-noticed Hrrr, nam, gfs all keep rain over or near mdt much of the day so hopefully the flip flops stop and it seals our record.
  18. I checked out wunderground and saw it was indeed east of you. Sorry about that. We have almost nothing on radar here but the drizzle is so hard to I hear water draining off the roof. Hopefully a drier forecast for tomorrow does not derail the second record breaker possibility.
  19. Looks like the rain I saw went a bit southeast of mdt. Some .10ish readings on wunderground a bit east of the airport.
  20. Looks like mdt has been light to mod rain for hours this evening per radar. Not raining at your place?
  21. Nam really trended toward the dryer euro for tomorrow. Loving the rain falling tonight though.....coming down a bit harder now. Quarter inch since 5pm.
  22. Actually raining decently here right now but most not on radar....one of those heavy drizzle out of low clouds situations. .10" in the last two hours.
  23. Not at all diminishing their info but our recent frequent 70's days in winter make stats like this a bit less impressive. RE: in 2015 it was warmer every day between Dec 22 and 27 than it was today. The fact that we are experiencing the two coldest days (high temp) immediately leading up to Memorial day, ever in record keeping, is the big news!
  24. Several 42 and 43 degree temps showing near the I80 corridor of the Eastern half of PA.
