King CMC carried us through spring. Its been a little off track the last month to 45 days. Maybe each model has a favorite time of the year.

GFS high on Saturday, for MDT, is around 80. CMC low 80's. Hmmm. Nam has no 90's for MDT whole run. The weekend portion of the heat wave is definitely wavering today as a more cloudy outlook comes on. Both the Nam and CMC punt the early part of the heat wave for N VA and north...into next week.

MDT never hits 90 the entire run of the CMC....due to a lot more afternoon convection (speaking of that, radar is lighting up a bit in Western PA today) and simply no big push of heat.

Maybe you are in a group of exaggerators? LOL.

Starting to see why. Though yesterday Cap City was only one degree off. I believe their temps are accurate they are just not always representative of most of the area. York (a known cold spot) scored a 53, Lancaster 56. It's truly an HIA thing I believe.

Your MDT friends only managed a 61. Each passing cool night the records at MDT become less and less legitimate.

@Itstrainingtime....does MDT make 100 next week? 10 days left before it becomes a very rare event.

12Z GFS is an Old Fashioned "Call the Patriot News/Post-Gazette/Philly Inquirer and warn the commoners about heat" heat wave. Its not as intense as some runs but its relentless especially for the LSV and South/East. Would have to do some checking but may run the risk of setting a record for most days in a row above 90 at MDT. Think we have had this discussion before. 10 of 11 days above 90. CMC focuses much of the heat farther West and not nearly "as bad" but still hot. GFS does throw out this fantasy relief. 12Z Euro questions whether anyone except S/E PA even sees a heatwave. Not nearly as hot as it has a minor trough affecting the area late next week.

Keep those 100's outta here. No heat records needed this year. I will check out the 12Z when I have some time. Busy week.

Socked in and 66 at 9AM. Definitely the coolest day of the week at this point of the day. Nice easterly breeze keeping the house cool.

Life threatening temps and extreme drought (extreme drought considering a two week time period.) 5 hours ago was around 2AM. Were you calling State Farm for the GFS update? :-) Euro and CMC do not seem so extreme on the temps. Euro even worse on qpf through 240.

I would not put away the shorts but the 12Z GFS is quite a bit different with the Ridge next week....and has a bowling ball trough just to our west now. Still quite warm but no 100's on the map.
