  1. We have been luckier this year than the last 2-3. But it is D word time again now. If we get no rain this weekend I am stamping an informal and unofficial D0 on us :-)
  2. @Cashtown_Coop, still seems unlikely but its no longer an impossible long shot...that we do not hit 90 one time from this hot stretch. Today is looking questionable now. It is not budging here at 87. And with the potential of clouds or rain Sunday, if we could sneak out tomorrow we are in play. Still doubt it but I thought we would crack 90 on Wed so... just getting this far is pretty crazy.
  3. Yea, first week of August looks it is prime for a real heat wave (though GFS dropped it today) Next week looks like at least partly a breather. I was just outside with a pet and in the shade it is really not bad here. LOL very breezy and 87.
  4. @canderson, good call with MDT going 3 and 5 days 90 and above I said not but misjudged Tuesday thinking it would not make it (it was close) and figured one other day would be cloudier than forecast but think you get that one right now. Still not going with you on two weeks though :-)
  5. For those that hit 96-98 yesterday it is possible that is the high point or tied with tomorrow for the high point.
  6. Nam is one of the dryer models for Sunday but still fairly cloudy in the afternoon.
  7. 85 at noon. Quite windy. Seems rains and or clouds may play a lot into temps on Sunday
  8. And those 3K and HRRR maps are never wrong! LOL. Kidding. 80 at 10:40 so slightly ahead of yesterday I think. Is there a 90 coming today? LOL.
  9. 3K suggests it is lottery day (today) for the rains in and near the LSV.
  10. 66 for the low here. Looks like MDT is 75.
  11. Already in the 60's on the Adams and Franklin county line. 72 in the Ville. Surprised it has fallen so quickly
  12. But it has not even felt hot here. Two years ago we would have been leading the way with temps here. Different times. I was down near Hagerstown where it did get to 90ish and it was not oppressive in the least bit. 3-4 degrees over average.
  13. Looks like the highest temp at any NWS station near by was 93...even CXY.
  14. The HI topped out at 90 here today. Lol. This is definitely an HIA/east heat wave. Looks like MDT made it to 95 HI for a few readings. Mostly 92-94.
  15. RGEM and Nam both have rain on Sunday as well...something to watch.
  16. Yep, down to 86 now. More sun than clouds but breezy and DP in the mid 60's so a no harm/no foul type of day. Meso's showing some rain for a few lucky winners tomorrow. 3K shows a full on squall line and temps dropping into the 70's mid afternoon.
  17. The "Itstrainingtime front" is here. 87 and partly cloudy.
  18. PS, to me the truly hot days feature warmer locations in the 90's mid morning. RE: MDT is hovering around 90 right now. If they were headed for 100 I would think they would need to be 93-95 now.
  19. Would not hurt my feelings. LOL Big Money is at 84.
  20. Bit early nooners as I have a meeting. 83 and quite breezy.
  21. That would take a little more time that I have right now but I would expect they would average out quite close. The first half of the first month of summer and the first half of the first month of fall (Met). Stepping into the heat on one side, and stepping out on the other. This graphic gives a good compare. The all time highs for first half of June are comparable to Sept for MDT. Most/more than half of the Sept records are before we lived. What really stands out is that the highest temps during those times were 102 in Sept 1953.
  22. Since 2010 only one Sept has been hotter than it's preceding June...2012. In 2021 June was almost 6 degrees higher than Sept of that year.
  23. My comment was just historical. No reliable modeling to add to real thoughts :-)
  24. It is my area through Central and Norther Adams and in some manner Central and Southern York and Lancaster counties. Almost always running lower than the HIA.
