Down between 78-82 in most of the southern half of York and Lancaster county. 90 at MDT. Wow. UHI/HIA to the extreme here.

So it is already down to 79 here. LOL. It is not like I am in some other universe than the HIA. I can be at the Capitol Bldg in Harrisburg in one hour.

This weekend's air mass will actually originate from the Desert Southwest and southern Plains, where high temperatures have been in the 100s and 110s for the better part of the last two weeks.

That would make not hitting the 90's (or even hitting it once or twice) quite the feat over here. I have to say it though. Temps in the mid 90's in July an extreme Heatwave? Many here would argue it is not a heatwave at all. Just commenting, not going to go down that hole farther. LOL

I am on mow 13 with two in the last 2 weeks. But now things are dying back again. it is a done deal that I will be under 20 for the Met Summer. Only 5-6 weeks left and not dual mow weeks seem possible.

I was on board with a real heat wave in early August as well but was quite surprised to see the GFS dump a broad but deep trough over us to start off August. Big changes so reserving opinion for a bit now. It went from a zonal/hot flow to not quite quickly.

We have been luckier this year than the last 2-3. But it is D word time again now. If we get no rain this weekend I am stamping an informal and unofficial D0 on us :-)

@Cashtown_Coop, still seems unlikely but its no longer an impossible long shot...that we do not hit 90 one time from this hot stretch. Today is looking questionable now. It is not budging here at 87. And with the potential of clouds or rain Sunday, if we could sneak out tomorrow we are in play. Still doubt it but I thought we would crack 90 on Wed so... just getting this far is pretty crazy.

Yea, first week of August looks it is prime for a real heat wave (though GFS dropped it today) Next week looks like at least partly a breather. I was just outside with a pet and in the shade it is really not bad here. LOL very breezy and 87.

@canderson, good call with MDT going 3 and 5 days 90 and above I said not but misjudged Tuesday thinking it would not make it (it was close) and figured one other day would be cloudier than forecast but think you get that one right now. Still not going with you on two weeks though :-)

For those that hit 96-98 yesterday it is possible that is the high point or tied with tomorrow for the high point.

Nam is one of the dryer models for Sunday but still fairly cloudy in the afternoon.
