  1. NYE good news with the Jan 7th SLP. Great track for the LSV and most of PA with the trough a bit farther east than 12Z.
  2. I am drinking a beer while posting this so I will take 1 out of 2 :-). I have been a 'Veggie' for over a decade now. Easier now than 20 years ago.
  3. Small bump North but nothing substantial (from 12Z) for Monday. Frankly, if this happens like this I have to be excited for those Southern VA people.
  4. A little NYE fun for those not going out....end of year Quiz. Post your results. It's on CNN but I read both CNN and Foxnews, so not making a political statement. Just happenstance. I only got 5! https://www.cnn.com/interactive/2021/12/us/quiz-year-in-review/
  5. I have posted it before as Cashtown is familiar with the area, so it was not new info. If anyone feels inclined to drive over and try to find me: 1) It would not be that hard, some here know my real name 2) I am a vegetarian so if stopping over, prepare to eat veggies or plant products. LOL But yes, not sure how a house (or property for that matter) can be in two different states.
  6. My PA side property is one house up from the one that sits on the line so to be fair, I have to walk into their property to cross in MD. Without giving away my address, here is a map of the area. The red marker is just what I used to call the map up. No house there...a barn actually. The houses on Old Pen Mar Road border the M/D line to the South. So not as cool as walking over a state in the house. LOL. We did look at a house, 3 years ago, that had a creek running under it and you could open a hatch and dip into the creek and get water. Seemed like a flood risk to me!
  7. Yes, anytime there is a low positioned to my southwest, it warms here quickly. My nearest NWS station is HGR at 56 right now. I live on the M/D line....literally right on it.
  8. You may get drunk on the excitement from the HH gfs.
  9. It's completely sunny except some clouds hanging over the ridges. Can see some clouds moving in from the west as well. It's 58 right now.
  10. It's defintely been a day to get out with tomorrow looming. I love winter weather as well..miss it right now...but not going to ignore what we have.
  11. It's pretty amazing out for activities. We are at south maintain creamery waiting in a line of a dozen for ice cream. People sitting outside and eating.
  12. My take on it...Right or wrong... the GFS digs a deep trough down into N. Texas which raises the heights over us...and the SER is still out there though displaced a bit East vs. now. So the low takes the path it is given. It attacks that high in the NE.
  13. You are the Ukie king. I keep forgetting to check it. Thanks for keeping us on our toes (seriously).
  14. Look at all the back and forth from the GFS on the Jan 3rd opportunity. It's what makes the hobby fun...I think?
  15. Look at the trough. That is where it probably goes.
  16. Its definitely something to keep an eye on. 500mb/ULL actually cuts off at 66 hours but quickly opens up again and escapes.
  17. Rgem and GFS both bad to digging a bit more for Jan 3rd. That possibility just keeps keeping our eyes on it. Still south but much more energetic than the Nam. South MA forum loves the Rgem and GFS. DT special.
  18. Icon was still a far Western PA special for a week from now...but still on the map and trackable. Need the high to be a couple hunderd miles farther East.
  19. Yea, I really want to see us evolve into a pattern of "storms and rumors of storms" to move winter into a more of an exciting phase for us snow hounds. Ran through the 500MB panels on the 6Z GFS and its not a full time trough for us but a lot more panels showing a ridge forming in the West which is definitely a better look for us. Others here have post as such so not noew info but still good news if it comes to fruition.
  20. It's not snow but many there are some impressive qpf figures coming in for the next 24-36 hours. Drought buster for the Southern PA areas under drought advisories right now. Nam and Icon both advertising 1.5-4".
  21. He is an electrician so he may be doing some "rigging" to help us through our day. Some low voltage swapping to get all the right data into his models. LOL
  22. It really does not form a concentrated area of LP until it's to the coast.
  23. On the MR and LR front, somewhat excited to look through the 6Z GFS. Much less in the way of the up and down cold/warm routine. No disruptive (to the cold feed) cutter or North based SLP's after Jan 6th vs. a constant dome of High pressure keeping everything south of us. One could argue suppression but trying to win in a regime where the storm track is constantly to our west is way too hard. Will be eager to see if the look continues in a couple hours.
