  1. I noticed the AM AFD dealt with this change calling the weekend a break. Despite strong ridging over the central US and Atlantic into Friday, model guidance continues to point toward a weakness in the upper pattern in the vicinity of Pennsylvania. This will allow a front to pass through the Commonwealth, dropping temperatures and bringing some showers and storms later in the work week. The boundary will likely stall out near southern PA Friday into Saturday, keeping rain/storm chances through the weekend. Despite the unsettled weather, it will be a nice break from what could have been a stretch of oppressive heat and humidity.
  2. Some energy passing by to our south this afternoon and then a front tonight into tomorrow...so rain chances still in play for a lucky few.
  3. The patent on this is under the same file as nooners. Point is on Maytown. Areas south of Hanover were over 1"
  4. I was assuming Paw Paw was next but I must have had the order reversed. Paw Paw is already complete.
  5. The forecasting floor installers seem to love themselves some Euro. Temps 4 degrees AN being called a Heat Wave is still weird.
  6. Dreary 61 and wet this AM. 4 1/2 weeks until Met fall.
  7. They are partying with the big GFS snowstorms last winter. Thursday coupld tickle 100 as depicted.
  8. High point so far is in Southern Adams and York where about 1" estimated fell. Pinchot estimated around 1/2" The focus of the first wave was well south of the trajectory of the suites showing heavy rain north of Harrisburg. 2-3" fell around Frederick. MD.
  9. Back end approaching fast....going to see a sunset here it appears. .6".
  10. Movie time at pinchot camping. Check out the thrift store yet?
  11. One of my spotters is already reporting 1/4" just east of Mechanicsburg.
  12. Mow #14 or 15 (losing track) will be held this week. LOL.
  13. So we were talking about rain start times...even the early models, like the HRRR, were too late with reality seeing rain entering the Lehigh Valley right now. The runs that had it starting this evening were really late. The latest HRRR has the rain ending 10-11PM in the LSV.
  14. Yea, the super heat wave that appeared headed this was mis-forecast by the GFS as of today's depictions. The end of the GFS is more late September than early August.
  15. I was just reviewing some of the tropical models as it is QUIET. I remember I said that last year, albeit it a week or two earlier, and things livened up but it is now August and there is nothing to track.
  16. Sincerely sorry you lost a chunk of the day.
  17. We are already between .1 and .2 with Mod to heavy rain. Raining through much of the Northern LSV now.
  18. A few miles west of rou'ville but it is pouring. Soaker headed in.
  19. Strong SW flow at 850 and a bit below is pumping Southern Air in. Plus a S/W forming to my SW. 83 now. Even warmer than CXY right now. It is quickly clouding up though so no records here today. One observer has 87 a bit north of me though I wonder if that is correct.
  20. Already 81 here. If not for the rain this afternoon, today could have been the hottest day of the year here.
