For shits and giggles, the 18Z GFS has snow at Short Pump while it is raining at MDT. LOL

I was just gassing up my mower for my first ever January mow.

12Z GFS....winter like cold starts to set in during the Day 11/12 time frame (Dec 9th/10th) and runs through the rest of the run to mid-month though heights start to rise at the end of the run. In that day 11/12 time frame, a trough settles in from the Northeast. No specific storm threats to discuss on this one run. This time frame is outside the scope of the CMC or Euro Op runs as of now. Prior to that the temps are quite variable between AN and BN.

You double digited me here with my 57. You guys did not clear out, I guess. It was sunny here by 2:30. 45 here right now. MDT and CXY both got to 55 this AM so I guess it was delayed by a day. LOL.

Anyone cancelling winter is loco! LOL. Winter does not even start until mid next week. I think a great way to view this is to look at another MA thread, the snowfall predict thread. Many of the same MA LR posters who are excited about the pattern are putting very pedestrian totals into the season predict thread. If asked to describe December I would say there is a good chance it snows some. LOL.

The MA LR thread has led many people off the cliff year upon year due the difference between patterns and day to day weather, so I agree. Interesting convo going on there though. Eventually we are going to score big again.

Sun broke out here and it is pretty crappy out. 57 and humid.

Mod rain as the main advance has arrived here. Got up to 49 before it started but down to 45 now.

Will probably not get as warm here today as it did yesterday...with the rain. Mid 50's...maybe some upper...but doubt we get to 60. But warm start indeed.

Have not had a chance to look myself but the MA group is back to being more excited about the European pattern depiction for Mid Dec. Maybe back to a 7 or 8 out of 10 look for the ensembles pattern predict.

Yesterday I did short sleeve shirt and pants...today was shorts and long sleeve shirt. Keep's em guessing. Tomorrow is long sleeves both sides as low 50's is the highest it seems likely to go.

Today was the best day (wearing shorts wise) in quite some time due to little wind as the after progressed. 60 for the high at Rou. Capital City came in 61 or 62. MDT 58 or 59.
