Yea, it swoops up off the SE coast and just clips the US. It is probably the first real threat to the US at this point but Texas to the Chessy bay is still in play. LOL. If it were to get that deep and go by to our East, that could usher in much hotter air in the subsidence behind/beside it.

That pulse of energy the HRRR kept touting was later than it suggested. Not a ton of radar coverage for the evening chances. GFS has two hot days this week then the heat shuts off until this passes to our east.

18Z GFS has a lot more clouds/showers for Friday now...hotter Thursday. Some upper 40's again in N PA Sat AM.

I think, as of this moment, the GFS and CMC and have really backed down the hot weather thoughts...if by hot one means temps above 95 for example. Really just one day.

GFS breaks up the hot stretch in 5 days. In fact it only had 3 days above 90 at 18Z the entire 12Z run....only one in July (Fri). Mid to upper 70's at 18Z 7 days from now.

It is a miss barely but at 342.

GFS had MDT 105-110 just a few days ago. It is actually down 5-10 degrees right now. It showed 102 or 103 just after lunch.

I think I mentioned but 10 is in the books and that will close out July and possibly much longer. HRRR has quite a bit of activity for the southern LSV this afternoon and evening.

The only catch is beer (vs a mixed drink). 2 beers and I have to wait until the last moment to use the rest room and am still hoping we do not get stuck on the tarmac. LOL. Some airlines get a bit strict with getting up when not allowed.

Several suites, mesos and global, have some decent cells in or near the LSV tomorrow afternoon. Has not been talked about much. Zones are ignoring.

Windows open 55 this Am. Smattering of 40's along the Northern Tier.

Mow # 10 is a mere moment away.... probably the last one for the month. @Jns2183 all 3 main globals show the heat breaking after Friday with no extreme temps Sat.

Euro closely matches the other two globals with the peak of next week's heat being Fri before the highs drop due to a front/rain and a trough backing in from the East over the weekend.

Since Aug 2016 for alone in first. The Yanks are doing well taking themselves down.

Not worth too much dissection but the LR GFS goes norm or below after this VERY hot day next week...including a partly cloudy day with highs in the 70's and lows in the 40's and 50's. 300 temp maps will change a lot of times between now and then, but a trough backs in from the Atlantic to squash the heat wave here. CMC supports it through the 10-day run. Also, a 'Cane hitting NO/LA at day 9.
