  1. I just put my studded snows on the MINI. JUST in case. I commute to Dutchess County... Fishkill area.
  2. Washed my car in a tee shirt yesterday.... hoping for a miss in Rockland. I want big or zip.
  3. Snow blower's staged. Central Rockland County, just an "inch" above 287. Feel any banding could give us that potential boost beyond 8". Glad it's not my working weekend....
  4. Glad it's not my working weekend. Retirement is looking better every week. Bring on the Bombogenisis; slant it west.
  5. Very light snow since about 7:00pm here in central Rockland County. 21.2F (down) RH 69.3% (up) DP 13.3 (up)
  6. I'm in high tech semiconductor manufacturing (an "essential" job) but I'm not making the 42 mile drive to for expensive machines. I suspect he's got an important one that involves human beings. Kudos, if so.
  7. Just talked to my parents in Sussex County (Hampton Twp). Snowing, lightly, since ~1:00 and about an inch accum. Nothing yet here in Spring Valley, Rockland Cty.
  8. I do 12 hour shifts in Hopewell Jct., Dutchess County; I live in central Rockland. I'm not going in tomorrow because it should get progressively worse with every hour that goes by. Bear Mountain Bridge hills are no fun in a two wheel drive MINI Cooper after about six inches. I miss my Jeep Wrangler.... lol I'm off 'til Friday I suspect..... for the next storm....
  9. I'm supposed to work there in Hopewell Jct tomorrow and Tuesday... definitely not going in tomorrow with a 42 mile commute from Rockland County. Tuesday may be questionable too.... The chip making tools can wait!
  10. WABC showing 12-18" just west of Rockland County.... the bull's eye has shifted NW... I'm calling in on Monday as a Rockland to Dutchess County normal commuter. As it looks this moment.
  11. "A potential significant event for some areas - depending on the track" - per WCBS 880 wx this morning before work....
  12. Mid-Rockland County here. Will fire up the snow blower tomorrow and fire up the generator. Hoping for lower than expected winds. Sandy was enough for us - eight days sans power. No fun. A big snowstorm is beautiful to watch but the negative aspects outweigh the beauty. Dump on us, just not the power loss......
  13. Mid Rockland County, NY looking interesting.... Snow blower is ready with only a 14" vertical height. Hmmpf.
  14. Lawn was mowed. Good thing the tomatoes and other veggies are in the greenhouse.... Gads. Can't wait until May weather towards the end of NEXT week.
  15. Just had a chuckle... NBC TV met showed 12-18" by Tuesday morning in the Putnam/Dutchess/north areas. I work 12 hr shifts in Hopewell Jct. so it could be an early departure on Sunday if this comes to life. Just mounted the studded snows today.
  16. Spring Valley/New Hempstead, Rockland County: 1/4" yesterday morning. Swept off the driveway. ~1" this morning.
  17. I shop at Stop n Shop, New City. Hoping for snow too. Have to work Tuesday however....
  18. I slid on black ice on the Palisades northbound at Bear Mt... up on the hill.. It's notorious there. Thermo said 35 and it was icy. I Tweeted Newsradio880 about it.
