  1. Those in the know know that RIC usually freezes around BWIs date, not DCAs.
  2. Hell, take last year and sub in a "normal" December and it ends up being borderline great year.
  3. Yeah, I've been looking ahead and forgot to pay much attention to this weekend. Maybe IAD too? 3k NAM would suggest so.
  4. ^pants tent in DJFM. First freeze pretty likely IMO for perhaps everyone but DCA in the October 25-Nov 3 window, assuming these looks come fairly close to verifying.
  5. NOAA winter outlook is out. We're in the above normal temp/above normal precip area, but lowest color contour for each. Temp pattern much more Nina then Nino. Precip doesn't really look like either, but I guess a bit more Nina with lower precip in CA and TX/LA.
  6. Damn I'd love to see this look in 6-8 weeks. For now it probably just means IAD's (and maybe the other airports') first freeze, some mountain snow showers, and possibly chilly rain for us.
  7. GEFS and EPS both supportive of some cold shots in the last 5-7 days of the month. Something to keep in mind this winter is that the new GFS has a distinct cold bias at long ranges. It's going to really tease us I expect. But I think first frost/freeze for the 'burbs at least looking quite possible before Halloween.
  8. Unlocking so we can chat about freezes as this gets more plausible
  9. I’d love a solid raining nor’easter with temps in the 40s or 50s
  10. BWI: 11/3 RIC: 11/3 IAD: 10/27 DCA: 11/16 Tie: 10”
  11. It’s that time again, despite the fact #endlesssummer2019 is still in full swing. You are forecasting the first day the temperature reaches 32F at BWI, IAD, DCA, and RIC. Tiebreaker is cumulative October precipitation at all 4 of those airports (I.e., one number). This thread will lock when October starts so you have a week! Happy freezing!
  12. Last September was 5.2F above normal at BWI and the first 11 days of October were an absolute torch.
  13. Last year was super late with how warm and wet it was. Definitely well ahead of that pace.
  14. Definitely seeing some color on certain trees and vines. Poison ivy showing some red and some maples have color. Maybe stress induced from the dry weather?
  15. Back after 3 weeks of travel to find my yard a dustbowl. Had a neighborhood kid mow while I was gone and he mowed on way too short a setting. Combine that with little rain and hot temps and
  16. Mesos are weak sauce compared to what’s already happening
  17. Got split in the bust zone today. Missed south and north.
  18. I think it helps. I did that last year. Of course we also had 80” of rain last year so YMMV.
  19. Started watering my lawn tonight. Looks like very little rain over next 10 days.
  20. Can see the Bay breeze front on radar now. Storms blowing up when they hit it.
