  1. I still find myself expecting “the big one” to be right around the corner, but is it (almost) safe to say that the excessive snowfall pattern of the 2010’s has ran its course? Last winter was the first with BN snowfall in what felt like ages, and this winter isn’t shaping up to be any better.
  2. 2.5” final, 8.6” for the season, third measurable event. 40/39....0.44” of precip.
  3. That’s one of the weirdest radar returns I’ve seen for snow.
  4. Averaging 2.5” here, ranging from 2.0” to 2.9”. 33/32, snowing moderately.
  5. The LIE is a train wreck. Accident after accident, you’d think it was actually snowing for real. 29/27 with light snow.
  6. 29/19 Snow should be starting within the next couple of minutes.
  7. Extensive tree damage, even after the March 2010 Nor’easter and Irene cleared out a lot of the weaker trees.
  8. Precisely why I read more than I post.
  9. Topped out at 68, down to 64 right now. If the skies earlier were as clear as they are now we likely would’ve hit at least 70. I’m officially in spring-mode. I bought and used an entire bag of potting soil yesterday.
  10. 65 here, warmest day since Nov 1st which topped out at 69.
  11. Mostly cloudy today just ESE of you, had about 2-2.5 hours of sun. Maxed out at 59.
  12. 54 and overcast here. Long Island’s Long Islanding again.
  13. Everything has been a miss for me so far.
  14. 33 with moderate to heavy snow. Accumulating on cold surfaces.
  15. Models always confuse me when it comes to Long Island. I never really know if Long Island is being depicted as cooler/warmer/wetter/drier/etc. or if it just appears that way because Long Island doesn’t exist on some models. Made it up to 44 here, a full 4-5 degrees above forecast.
  16. I’m one of the biggest warmanistas here, and even I’m confused at all the ship jumping so soon, at least wait a few more weeks lol. It’s late December, our snowiest month on average is February, anything can happen between now and then. Our winters are too erratic to ever get comfortable with any pattern. With that being said, I hope all the ship jumpers are proven right, I hope this winter will be terrible for cold/snow lovers. We’re a couple of days away from mid-winter and the dandelions are back out in full force.
  17. 59/30 here, warmest high temp of the month.
  18. 57 and sunny here, picture perfect.
