  1. First, my thoughts are with all of you in harms way. Please stay safe and sensible. Second, I've been a member here for almost eight years. While I understand this is a banter thread, this is by far the worse thread (as well as the one in the tropical forum) that I've followed. The administrators and moderators should be ashamed to allow some of these posts to remain here. People are losing their property and I fear there will be fatalities. So all of you that feel the urge To post nonsense over this storm, grow up!!!!
  2. Currently having some thunder with a downpour.
  3. Good luck. It's a long duration awful hit, you may want to reconsider staying. There's still time to leave.
  4. Watching Isaac too, wonder if he'll go into the GOM.
  5. I'm over there reading already. She's a cat 4 there was a special advisory put out at noon. Not looking good for NC.
  6. That's right. Harvey definitely was cut off from anything. I streamed live TV in Houston for over a week, he was one nasty storm.
  7. I need a lesson on the dynamics of a system this size stalling? My thinking is that it would have to be a huge high and a ridge to stall it. The remainder of Gordon seemed to follow what typically occurs, spreading out, riding the ridge and or going counter clockwise around a hp system.
  8. I packed lunch today, I'm not going out there!!
  9. Hope the shift east gives Lancaster Co some relief. Stay safe. I've been in a training rain event several years ago, also with numerous water rescues and flooding in places never seen before, it's not fun at all.
  10. Stayed closer but still at or just a bit warmer than the mean of the ensemble guidance for Tuesday and Wednesday given some uncertainty with Maria. NHC/WPC forecast guidance currently shows Maria remaining to our southeast and staying offshore through the middle of next week. A cold front is likely to help Steer Maria out to sea by the later part of next week. However, trends should be watched because a slower approach of this front could allow Maria to track closer to the coast. From my local AFD. I agree it's a situation to check back over the weekend, but it's not likely there is a scenario that would have Maria come up the east coast heading NNW instead of N and NNE. Fine with me stay out to sea. We've been enjoying a real nice stretch of weather here in SE PA.
