It likes to do that. Definitely take it with a grain of salt. Probably cut those numbers by 1/3 but still a solid 8-12" event. Are my eyes deceiving me or is the NAM suggesting the smokies get smokied by 30+ inches??- 3

18z GFS certainly wasn't bad. I have a hard time buying any long term torch given the Nino and the fact that the models blasted a January torch back in December that never really materialized beyond some short warm ups.
If a February "torch" gives me another foot of snow I'll be thrilled.- 1

Only 3/4" here today. Feels eerie outside, though. 58 degrees, almost up 60 degrees since Sunday morning.

Temp held steady til about 5 this morning then dropped off and we made it to 1.0. Chilly.

Still some flurries here this morning. Measured just over 6" before going to bed last night, down to 5" this morning with compaction. Low temp of 6.

Well. Never mind that. Just had another good burst come through for the last hour and we are at 6".Looks like compaction is gonna keep me out of the 6" club.
Still snowing but only measuring 5.25 now. Super fluffy stuff gonna compact down overnight. Sheet of ice by tomorrow morning.- 4

5" and still coming down. Seeing more breaks than earlier today. I'd imagine Beech is getting absolutely hammered if this much is making it to me.

3km NAM is very impressive with the NWFS. Should be a fun day tomorrow.

Beech is very close to grandfather. Like 10 miles from the Tynecastle intersection. Roan is more of a drive, around an hour or so.Ah darn. I’ll be near Grandfather. -
Definitely Beech and Roan. That's a great question. Maybe Tyler Penlandcan help with that. I'm not site about what's the best spot up through there except maybe Roan mountain.
Beech is easier to access since they keep it plowed for skiers. Roan will probably pull over a foot this weekend.
Zionville on the west end of the county does pretty good as well if you wanna avoid the masses on the ski mountain.- 2

Stayed above freezing which melted some off but temps going into free fall in the last few minutes. Down 2 degrees in the last 10.

You can tell who bothers plowing. Blowing Rock inside city limits is always a mess. Lived there for a couple years when I first moved up here and they had no clue how to handle the roads.Blowing Rock…

6.5" and rates have lightener up enough to switch to light rn/sn mix.

Just passed 6" looking like potentially double digits before all is said and done with those returns back in TN.
