It appears that winds at ORH had shifted to NNW at 8:00a.m. Was that the front already passing through? I didn't think it was due until this afternoon.
Way non-weather related.....
Has anyone ever removed a doorknob with a pin-hole detent mechanism? I'm sticking in the little simcard-like tool that came with the new knob, but I'll be damned if I can get the old one off.
TIA for any thoughts/advice. Feel free to pm if not wanting to interfere with the scintillating discussion of dew points.
Wow. I would tend to be with the over-watered crowd. These don't need to be watered daily--perhaps every 2-3 days after transplant.
However, the fact that this all happened in 3 days sounds like something more dire. Like you spilled some Round up on it.
We did the same. I think we got a Red Sunset, but it might be an October Glory--forgot what we went with. I do know we got it at about 15', I'm eager for it to get another 5-8 to better block the neighbors. I guess that'll be 2-4 years of growing.
While I"m sure it will continue to fill in, I think the grass is in enough to recognize I need to do some additional seeding. What are folks thoughts on this--any reason to wait until after a first mowing to put it down? I'd rather get it in in the next couple of days and perhaps hold off on mowing until 2 weekends from now (maybe even longer depending on how it looks).
The new grass is growing unbelievably fast. Just from this morning to tonight it went from things you needed to search for (like my picture from earlier shows) to now having large patches of greenish tint.
I just finished watering.....eager to see what happens over the next 24 hours. One thing that's kind of a bummer is that I'm not able to move the sprinkler to the center of the new area without walking through the other areas. So, I might find I"ll need to do some additional work on that after the other areas take hold.
