  1. There is a lot that has to go right. It's also not only about having the right pieces in place but the evolution of those pieces have to be just about perfect. It's one thing to get the pieces but it's a whole another ballgame to get everything to evolve perfectly.
  2. does cirrus from the outflow count?
  3. I feel like even when the Mets are mathematically eliminated from the playoffs you still try and find a way of how they can get in.
  4. the fake front may knock things down a few degrees...briefly
  5. Certainly a fast moving, strong tropical system isn't going to care much about SST's. Absolutely agreed there. However, it's not guaranteed any system would accelerate, even though historically that seems to be the case. All I was suggesting is with the SST's, a slower moving system would have much more time to weaken and probably weaken steadily.
  6. Looks like maybe a fake front at the end of the week.
  7. The summer's back breaking cold front at the end of July which smacked the SST's down pretty much ended any likelihood for a solid cane to impact our area should one come up the coast. Exception being something accelerates northward from the Carolina's and is a 3/4 strength.
  8. Had a few rounds of decent rain this morning. Sun coming out now. Hopefully dry things up a bit b/c the dog is itching to go outside and play for a bit.
  9. I hope we build up as much heat and humidity as possible, get an EML train going, and then drive in a powerful trough which brings us Fall...but before Fall comes Fall...Fall is in all the trees across the region falling down by a massive bow derecho which takes down every tree, forest, and chimney across the region and Santa is left having to knock on people's doors to deliver presents this winter
  10. there was a spider on the ceiling above the bed the other night b/c my girlfriend wasn't able to get it. There actually haven't been many spiders that I've seen this year inside. There are a few dead ones on the spider traps in the basement. I have had a few tiny ones run across my desk but they were tiny so I was able to get them. Anything bigger than a large period I find someone to deal with it
  11. We use AC in the bedroom every night. For some reason it gets super warm inside. And you know me...if I'm using AC it must be hot. but it does end up getting chilly. I usually end up wrapping myself like a caterpillar preparing to morph into a butterfly
  12. Holy shit...surge updated to 10-15 feet along the big bend
  13. I agree, I don't think TPA sees hurricane force gusts as well.
  14. Considering this storm is likely to continue strengthening right up to landfall the concern for a major at landfall is very high. Should Idalia take off this evening or tonight I could see a higher end cat 3 potential.
  15. I think they opened another spot too somewhere along the shoreline. They’re finally starting to distribute some of their beers to stores.
  16. Should venture to Five Churches in New Britain. They make some really good beer and add new beers somewhat frequently.
  17. ehhh unfortunately, we can do worse than last winter...not saying we will but we have seen worse.
  18. @WxWatcher007 Are there any products out there which are good to assess with forecasting wind shear? I know they have the shear maps and shear tendency maps on spaghetti models, but what about for forecasting shear?
