  1. Didn't pick up any extra overnight. Still sitting at 4.5 inches for the storm total. It's just beginning to snow again, though. So, we'll see if we can squeeze out any extra accumulation. Sent from my Alcatel 6055U using Tapatalk
  2. Radar shows nothing overhead and yet it's still snowing lightly. Sent from my Alcatel 6055U using Tapatalk
  3. Temp had briefly dropped to 32.0, but it's back to 32.1 under these lighter rates.
  4. Up to 4.5 inches in total now. Continued light snowfall.
  5. Added another half inch of snow in the past hour. That brings me up to 4 inches total for this event. Temp can't break the freezing mark, though. Been hovering at 32.1 for quite a while.
  6. I just went out to measure again since the last time I measured and cleaned off the board. I've gotten another 1.5 inches since 5:00 PM, and it is snowing steadily right now. That brings me to a 3.5 event total so far, with apparently more to come. What stinks is being huddled up in bed with the flu at the same time we have such an awesome storm going on.
  7. So, the just-released 20Z HRRR literally has snowfall over my backyard for all 18 frames. I'm not sure I've seen that before. https://www.tropicaltidbits.com/analysis/models/?model=hrrr&region=seus&pkg=ref_frzn&runtime=2017120820&fh=5&xpos=0&ypos=0
  8. This is a beautiful picture of what could come in the next 12 hours (?!?!) from the latest RGEM. That's a crazy tight gradient here though:
  9. I can't seem to get under freezing. Sitting at 32.6 over 31. Just need another degree to hold it off from melting whenever the rates let up.
  10. Yeah, rates have really lightened up here in the last half hour or so. That killer band is just to my SE.
  11. I've liked so many posts, that I've apparently reached my limit for the day. Who knew? 70 is the threshold, guys.
  12. Heavy wet stuff here. I just measured between 1.5 and 2 inches on the deck picnic table. Scraped it all off to measure again in an hour or so.
  13. It's hard to remain focused enough to teach a calc III class when it's snowing hard outside! It's been snowing very well for the past hour here in Hickory. Nothing on the ground at this point, and the rates have let up just a bit too. Got one more hour of class to go. Need that temp to drop some more...
  14. Just a nasty mix here right now. Rates continue to be underwhelming...
  15. Well, based off real-time observations here in Hickory (looking out my office window), it rains.
  16. Temperatures at 925mb, lower levels of the atmospheres. We need those to drop below freezing, as well, to have a better chance for the snowfall to make it to the surface.
  17. Back to drizzle. Very rate dependant right now. Sent from my Alcatel 6055U using Tapatalk
  18. Snow has started in the HKY!! Sent from my Alcatel 6055U using Tapatalk
