It feels like a classic incoming snow outside right now. I still don't like how the models show lower totals on the lee side BUT, I'm excited to see whatever falls. Let's get it!
Edit: Temps have risen sharply last 30 mins. Jumped from 24 to 29.
Morning crew! I'm sitting at 24.5 this morning and 78% humidity. Lets reel this one in.
NWS actually went down for me (1-3 now) but I'm hoping for more.
Post-storm we should have a conversation about the lack of engagement the Blacksburg office has with it's NC counties for warnings. They fail to post advisories for events compared to GSP when it comes to the mountains/foothills. I think we need an Asheville or Hickory NWS.
Sorry guys, I got optimistic again and the NAM had to come ruin it for us all . In general though, I'm glad to see QPF tick up. I find it odd that warm temps would be our issue but I guess we shall see.
I love this whole crew! There were definitely some hard feelings last year when it felt like hands were forced to make a foothills thread but I love our little microclimates. Heck, There are instances where the escarpment in my part of the world rake in BIG compared to the higher elevations. It’s just been so long for many of us.
glad to be here with you all and here’s hoping that the storm delivers on Friday!
I feel like there’s a budding rivalry between the foothill and mountain crew. Heck, the foothill thread only came about because we were no longer welcome to complain in the mountain thread.
Sorry not everyone gets northwest flow!
lol. Love seeing the Asheville snow hole show up on the maps now. Feels like a classic storm now.
Foothills/Leeside are showing lower totals in general. Something to watch for our foothill folks
