  1. 21 here. Snowing hard but tiny flakes.
  2. I’m in southern Old Fort/McDowell in the crooked creek area. Seems like we’ve just been staying under a heavy band from the low for a bit over an hour now.
  3. Hope you all get what I am right now. Huge flakes. Can barely see across the road. It’s been way too long
  4. Haha now I’m BIG flakes and it’s coming down at a good clip. My footprints are filling back in already. Approaching 5”. Think I overperformed a big from 4-6am
  5. Been a fun morning watching it snow. I’ve never had big flakes but just a heavy stream of tiny flakes.
  6. Morning WNC crew! We did it. Foothills to the peaks. It’s snowing. It’s cold. It’s beautiful.
  7. Nothing like waking up to 22 degrees, a snow covered ground, and more falling
  8. How are things in Hendersonville, Black Mountain, areas to the southwest of McDowell? Yet to see a sign of a flake here.
  9. Sigh… woke up to nothing. Heck, still can see the moon.
  10. I’m gonna head to bed early. Hoping to wake up to better vibes and hopefully something on the ground?
  11. Tick…tock. Patiently waiting here. Still see the moon and stars out this way
  12. Moon sure is pretty out there tonight. 30/23
  13. Professor at UNCA said something similar today. Thinks that the ULL flow will be too northerly for the foothills to benefit.
  14. Patchy skies here. Can see the stars. Feeling iffy but did all the tracking we could do. Hoping the foothill crew gets what we’ve been begging for.
  15. No matter how today goes. I’m still looking for our true gulf low, Miller A, heavy wet snow.
  16. Lots of whiplash on this system. Probably the lowest I’ve felt going into a storm day of. Let’s see what happens tonight. It’s practically now-casting time anyway
  17. Yea several of the regulars keep pointing out concern for McDowell, Burke, Rutherford. This is one I’m keeping low expectations and hope for a major surprise.
  18. If it happens, I’ll have to find someone to blame. Probably @BooneWX
  19. @wncsnowThe Marion/McDowell snow-hole from this week’s modeling has to be studied
  20. I will say. The NAM and GRAF concern me because the precip flow seems much more North to South. I’d prefer a east to west flow for us to get any sort of good accumulation. Idk. You guys know I’ve always been iffy on this system
