Confirmed. Only had .07 here with severe thunderstorm warning to my right in Marion and a tornado warning to my left in Buncombe. A few rumbles of thunder and a couple sprinkles

Was at a friend’s house in Avery Creek yesterday and holy moly, that was one heck of a lightning storm. Hadn’t heard thunder that loud in a long time.

Yea. It’s one of those escarpment rainy days where hardly anything shows on radar but I’m just staying under steady rain all day.

You got me beat 2.5” but 1.5” of that came in a 30ish min span. Probably some the heaviest/most consistent rain I’ve seen in quite some time. It’s still just the nerves from Helene but I swear the water just drains and flows differently along the creeks, in my yard, in culverts, etc. Makes every rain a little nerve racking

We have been locked into a steady shower all day. Been pleasant to be honest.

I know everyone’s excited about the rain but I really don’t like how the tropics are starting to fire up at the end of the model runs. It would be our luck to go from drought to a wet period followed by tropical mischief.

I’m still rain weary after Helene. Hate that I used to enjoy the rain so much but ever since the storm I’ve just always hated downpours and have to keep an eye on the yard, the way the water is flowing, etc. I’ll definitely take the rain but just in calm, non-intense varieties.

If it’s going to rain 2-3”, I hope it’s just a nice steady rain. I had a thunderstorm roll through a couple weeks back and the grounds just so hard it wants to puddle and make an absolute mess. Let’s have it soak in nice and slow

Guess it’s a sign I’m getting older but I think I’m looking forward to spring? Green grass, 60s/low 70s. Unfortunately, I know we will have that for a week before the 90s wanna show up.
