  1. I am beginning to feel more confident that here in SW Nass Cnty (LYNBROOK) I might not have to switch on my backup generator since the wind threat seems it will be much less than first thought.
  2. Anxiously awaiting the NHC's 2PM and 5PM forecast cones My Long Island town of Lynbrook has lost power with 40mph gusts. Glad my New 12,500 Watt Backup Gen is hooked up, with a couple of 50 foot and 100 foot extension cords to help out my neighbors too if need be
  3. Only Suffolk County on LI, I'd bet if track nudges further west, Nass cnty will be under a Hurricane watch too
  4. If Henri would veer to and make landfall between Perth Amboy and Sand Hook, would NYC/LI experience surge since it would be in the right side quadrant? If so, would this be a similar track to Sandy?
  5. Thank you Matt Currently I am in Liberty NY and of course my home on Long Island so I can jump from CICERO to Liberty to Long Island before any biggies target any of tose locations Just learning about Wegmans; hopefully as good As shoprite where I currently shop. Also wish I knew how much a kilowatt hour of electric cost. On Long Island it's 22 cents/kwh Liberty NY 11 cents/ KWH Curious about whether natural gas in cicero will be cheaper than natural gas on Long Island
  6. Matt, Just came back from CICERO, looks like almost a done deal on a house there Hopefully Cicero does better with LES than Manlius would have or the city of Syracuse itself Would have liked Brewerton but Cicero I hope won't disappoint. I know a poster once said the city of Syracuse itself with southerly winds torch; I guess points north would too Psyched anyhow and Matt, thank you
  7. Matt, I'll definitely be reaching out to you as it has always been my dream to live in a LES area Thank you again so much!
  8. Wow that was a great answer, thank you ! Ideally I'd live in Redfield if they had the big box stores , Dunkin Donuts and a mall Leaning towards Brewerton, north of there, like central square or Mallory, you are further north yes, but lose natural gas for your house and have to depend on propane. I hear alot about Cazenovia, what is special there? Again, thank you!
  9. Hey guys, This summer I am relocating to a suburb of Syracuse. I will land in either, Manlius, Clay, Cicero or Brewerton Which area would I do better on the most snow or is it relatively the same? Is there any appreciable difference in LES in any given winter between Manlius and let's say Brewerton? Thanks !
  10. Hey guys This snow lover is relocating From Long lsland's Lynbrook and Sullivan County's Liberty NY Heading back up to Central NY state multiple times in the next 2 weeks in areas surrounding Syracuse Like I have mentioned, Looking for the sweet spot between LES and N'oreasters based on historical averages and maybe a little elevation thrown in too Can't be a rural hamlet since I need to heat with natural gas and have to have gigabit internet and NO radon areas and great schools These are the areas I am looking at within 10-20 miles of Syracuse in mostly Onondaga County North Syracuse East Syracuse Brewerton Manlius Phoenix Cicero Central Square Fayettesville Baldwinsville Pompey Camilius Minoa Cazenovia Chittenago Please feel free to PM me as not to clutter up this forum topic Thanks!
  11. Can we possibly see some frozen precip in that period?
  12. Ridiculously high is right but not like Long Island where my primary house is One house I saw in Jamesville or was it Fayestsville, I forget but it would go for 3x that price on Long Island. Past 8 months living at my liberty NY house ( we had a trace of snow this morning ) Just don't want to thread into areas that use propane or oil; want Natural Gas only Looked as north as Cicero too I appreciate the help Matt; I don't wish to clutter the forum with real estate, would you mind if I PMyou next time?
  13. @TugHillMatt My wife and I have been seeing houses mainly a few miles south and southeast of Syracuse in developments of nice houses I'm trying to find the sweet spot for LES, N'easters, Natural gas and high speed internet!
  14. @LakeEffectKing does Cazenovia NY do better than average then fayetsville/manlius or syracuse or was this just a fluke. Moving up to those parts so i am curious! Thanks!
  15. Thanks for what you directed me to! That was a great link.. Learning about Syracuse climatology since I am moving to a suburb of Syracuse
  16. @uncle W Oh, I thought I could just see jan 1st to dec 31st in one list and scroll up and down to see the maximum snowfall ever for any particular day of a year
